MAP DESCRIPTION:
Forsaken Pass winds like a sinuous hillside path, shrouded in an eerie atmosphere, where even the light seems dim and sickly.
A small, decrepit crypt, abandoned along the way, foretells that we are heading towards a subdued burial place.
Atop a rocky height, an ancient statue, wrapped in ivy from years of neglect, awaits to reveal its identity.
Removing the plants, the engraved pedestal might unveil to whom such an effigy was dedicated.
Further on, we encounter a humble graveyard and the gravedigger’s depot, next to which lies a small well.
Near the cemetery, a gentle slope shows traces of blood leading to a cave.
The ground in front of the entrance is dampened by the amount of blood spilled, and numerous human remains lie scattered around.
Before crossing the rusted gates that mark the end of Forsaken Pass, many enigmas await to be solved.
NOTES:
The multiple elevations and areas of Forsaken Pass offer thrilling battle scenarios, with possibilities for dynamic combat in different parts of the map and against various foes
The Crypt is a small but significant funerary monument, whose gates could be forced to explore the underground room, which might conceal a Dungeon
The Statue serves as an ideal focal point to enrich the narrative of the area and the events that occurred
The Gravedigger’s Depot is a versatile structure, ready to hide any secret you desire (the related map will be available in the future on Patreon)
The Well, besides its obvious functions, might hide crucial clues or even the entrance to a secret place
The Cemetery is the perfect stage to confront the undead or to delve deeper into investigations
The Cave could be the lair of some monstrous creature, perhaps a group of Ghouls or some other wild beast
With Forsaken Pass, we move away from the more extravagant maps like the Biome Arena, presenting a setting with a distinctive character, pervaded by an unsettling and decaying atmosphere, different from the usually cheerful and lively tone of classic rural areas.
We will continue to explore this desolate land, the scene of sinister events, progressively enriching it with a village, detailed interiors, and possibly a dungeon!
In June, we will invite you to participate in a survey to express your interest in a Village of this kind and to share with us which structures you would like to explore, following the example of Adventurer’s Alley.
So, don’t miss the upcoming updates!
For now, that’s all, Fellow Darkish.
We’ll see you soon with the third and final map of this month!
We wish you, as always, grand adventures and NAT20s!
