The Underground of Norogrod

Welcome back to Norogrod, Fellow Darkish!

Today we will take you down with us to the Sewers, a maze of underground pipelines that we hope you will enjoy exploring.

This map connects directly to the sewage entrance you saw in the previous post and can also be combined with the map The Sewer explored some time ago.

In the adventure to Akktraiser, you have to search the sewers, follow the clues and get to the tunnels that the Cult of Helatrex uses as a hiding place.

Something awaits you in the dark recesses of this dungeon.

Are you ready to face the horror?

REWARDS

The Underground of Norogrod - € 1,5 Rewards

The Underground of Norogrod - € 3,5 Rewards

NOTES

- The sewer's got two different entrances.

- Sewers are dangerous, and finding the right path is a priority, but fortune rewards the daring. Will you look for the shortest way or will you explore this maze from top to bottom?

- Giant mice, bandits, aberrations, crocodiles. The number of enemies you will meet in similar sewers is endless. We hope you can challenge your party in many ways in these conduits.

- The entrance from the manhole opens into the large room with the tank. It can act as an arena thanks to the gratings that make it walkable, even if with some difficulty, almost the entire area. Getting in from there and avoiding the Brunilde Shop might not have been a good idea.

- The symbols on the walls will help you not get lost in the meanders of the sewers, guiding you into the heart of the dungeon. Will your adventurers be able to follow them?

- In the Variants we focused on the rocky part of the map, trying to offer you a wide variety of narrative possibilities. The grand final room is an arena, where you can challenge the monsters of the Cult, Ancient Guardians, Golems, groups of magicians or whatever you decide to parry in front of the Party. Let them work hard.

BACKGROUND

The sewerage system of Norogrod is a small jewel of architecture, dating back to an era when the city was rich and flourishing. Sewage is channelled underground. These canals over the years have been used to extend the tunnel network that connects the city to the underground. There are several "safe" entrances in the city, some hidden inside the houses, such as the Brunilde Shop.

A maze of tunnels and passages opens before the eyes of those who observe these places for the first time, and it is easy to get lost if you do not know the hidden signals. The most attentive will be able to reach the entrance of the basement and sink into a crazy nightmare.

The walls of the sewer leave room for tunnels carved into the earth. Blasphemous runes cover the walls and human remains adorn them like macabre tapestries. Not all roads lead to the place of worship; some lead to dead corners, where piles of corpses have been rotting for some time. This gruesome spectacle is nothing compared to the impossible vision offered by Fleshering. Once the earth and the rock have poured on the Material Plane, they become red filaments similar to uncovered muscles. The walls, like membranes of flesh, are enlivened with their own life and wide-open eyes observe those who dare to cross this domain.

NPC

In the following stories, we will meet a group of adventurers sent by the Order of the Holy Thunder to investigate the mysteries of Norogrod. They call themselves the Lightning Company.

Inquisitor Balthazar Schreiber: scion of a noble family, he joined the Inquisition by vocation. Puritan and uncompromising, he firmly believes in the cause and its work.

Sister Maria Jäger: Champion of the Order of the Holy Lightning is an imposing and austere woman. Over the years she has earned the moniker of "sister death". Few men can say they stand up to her in combat.

Wilvalor "Wil" Horn: Wilvalor or Wil as he prefers to be called is the bastard son born of a human woman and a Lathestialfar of Elanor (Wood Elf). Despite his questionable origins, his enormous talent in the arcane arts allowed him to become one of the most promising battle magicians of the Great Kingdom. He’s usually kind and diplomatic. One must hope, however, that he will not be the target of his wrath, should his elven side take over.

Svegran Iron Beard: Svegran is a Dreugr (Dwarf). The Iron Beard Clan was exterminated by the tribe of the Orcus War Chief (Orcs) Vorgarag and since that day has sworn that he will not find peace until he avenges his family. While not formally part of the Order of the Holy Thunder, his extraordinary ability as a warrior has made him a fundamental resource for his comrades.
