DESCRIPTION

The Old Town seems dismissed, dismal and filthy, a mirror of the moral decadency that seems to imbue the crumbling structures as much as the people that leave there. Worn walls and damaged windows from which dull eyes and gaunt faces malevolently watch you are the delicious frame of this part of Norogrod.

About ten years ago, it was a big fire that burnt down most of the quarter dwellings.

Some of those houses are still broken down since then, others are just ruins used as a shelter for the poorer. The luckiest, few as to speak, have managed to save their activities and homes.

The silence of those alleys it's just from time to time interrupted by the noise of the only Inn in town, The Drunken Boar. The owner of the Inn is the pingue Franz. Despite his rudeness, he is a good devil that, whilst the fire, saved lots of lives. In Old Town many owe him.

On the other side, he is quite hostile to foreigners; in his view, foreigners were involved with the stake.

Sure is, the area is a cauldron of ambiguous personalities, robbed of their humanity by the unsustainable life conditions, willing to do anything to survive. The consequential and vertiginous crime rate is not even the sinister side.

When the night falls deep and the last hour come, all the doors shut and it's at that time, the shadows come to life.

Mysterious figures, cloaked in darkness, knock hard their clubs on doors and drains, waiting to be followed. But maybe, it's better not knowing what answer the call, where they go and what they whisper in the darkness.

NOTES AND TIPS

• An interesting part of this location's roleplay experience is how your player will relate with immoral, despicable and deceptive individuals. Rest reassured the old part of Norogrod is a cauldron of negative personalities, a balm for your shady adventures.
• Norogrod appears exactly as its people: lifeless, decaying and aesthetically questionable. The old part embodies exactly those "qualities".
• A long time ago it was a great city, rich in beauty and fortune. Very little remains of it, but the story.
