Sims 4 Pack Blocker Utility v. 2.0

A useful tool for my mods for users who don't own all Sims 4 packs. Anyone who has all EPs, GPs and SPs does not need this tool! The kits are irrelevant.

✒️ Tool Description

This little tool is NOT a standalone mod! This is a small tool that is badly needed for some of my mods to bypass error messages in case the game is looking for the content you don't have. So it blocks the interactions in my mods that otherwise would cause an error message because you don't own some The Sims 4 packs.

It is (so far) only required for the following mods:

• SimSim Online Store (optional from version 4.01 and higher)
• Smart Sim Randomizer (mandatory for all versions)

🔎 What do I have to install?

When you have all packs:

• You don't need to install this tool if you have all EPs, GPs and SPs. The kits are irrelevant, so it doesn't matter which kits you have.

If you don't have all packs:

• You don't need to install this tool if you don't use SimSim Randomizer or SimSim Online Store mods.
• If you only use my Smart Sim Randomizer v. 0.8.2 (and no my SimSim Online Store), the Pack Blocker is mandatory required! If you don't use SimSim Online Store, you can still use the old version 1.1 of Pack Blocker. But you can also switch to version 2.0.
• If you only use my SimSim Online Store v. 4.01 (and not my Smart Sim Randomizer), the new version of Pack Blocker 2.0 is optional! The old versions of SimSim Online Store (including version 4.0.0) do not require Pack Blocker! The old version 1.1 of Pack Blocker does not work with SimSim Online Store!
• If you use both mods (SimSim Online Store & Smart Sim Randomizer), the Pack Blocker is also required. In this case you need only the new version 2.0 of Pack Blocker! The old version 1.1 of Pack Blocker does not work with SimSim Online Store!

➡️ How do I use this tool correctly?

There are two ways to use this tool correctly. Please read the instructions carefully and decide which way suits you best!

Option A: For those who would have it easy...

In this new tool version I have integrated Frankk's wonderful Test Pack Tool. That means it is now necessary to install. If you have installed Frank's tool, my Pack Blocker Tool will do everything else itself. You don't need to do anything else.

Option B: For those who want to have everything in their own hands

I also made this option because I don't want to rely solely on third-party tools. This option also works if, for example, Frankk's tool is broken and therefore cannot be used. For this option please do the following:

• Deletes the Auto Assign Addon file from this mod's main folder!
• Please find the folders Packs with packages for each EPs, GPs and SPs and please delete there all packages for game packs you own!

Example: If you do NOT own the Get To Work EP, keep the blocker file in the folder! However, if you OWN the Get To Work EP, then DELETE the blocker file! But if you don't delete the modules even though you own the corresponding game packs, my mod behaves as if you don't have those game packs!

No translation required because no custom strings are included.

🚨 Compatibility Issues

No game resources will be overwritten, so I don't expect any compatibility issues.

⚠️ Required Terms

• The XML Injector from Scumbumbo is required!
• The Test Pack Tool from Frankk is optional!
• You have to allow the scripts in your game settings.

📌 General Installation Instructions

• Back up your current save files just in case!
• Download the zip archive and extract all files!
• Move the unzipped folder to your Sims 4 Mods folder!
• Path: Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods
• Please delete all files of the previous version of the mod first!
• Delete the game cache files (how)!
