Hinged Pi Case Variations!

Hey there, wonderful people!  By popular demand, I've made a few variations to the Hinged Pi3B case to suit a few more use cases.  The SD card access slot is also bigger now, too, including on the original case, which now has a new version.

So, we now have the following:

1) Original case.

2) Case with camera cable slot.

3) Case with GPIO pins accessible and camera cable slot.

4) Case with GPIO pins optionally covered (see below!) and camera cable slot.

5) Same as (4) but with two mounts for M4 bolts at the top, spaced 75mm apart.

The "optional" GPIO pin cover refers to a panel over the pins that's connected by 0.4mm thick tabs on the inside.  Strong enough to stay in place, but it can be cut away if desired.  And, since the tabs are on the inside, and set back from the front, it'll still look nice and neat after trimming.

Printing Tips

As before, the cases print open and hinged, with the outsides down, and the same printing considerations apply: make sure your bottom layer is nice and neat so the case looks good :)

File Locations

The new versions are all labelled with V2 in the name, and are in the same Hinged Pi3B Case folder as before.

Have fun! :D

Hinged Pi Case Variations!

Comments

I've had pegboard stuff on the list, but I hadn't thought about putting a Pi case on a pegboard - that's a neat idea :)

Clockspring3D

super designed, do you plan to design some cases for ikea skadis pegboard?

Thanks! I think what I'll do is make a version where the outer panels are a separate modular part. That'll allow for easy customisation for heatsinks, attaching fans, exposing more pins or whatever. It'll also mean those panels won't necessarily have to be flat!

Clockspring3D

Very cool, do you know if you can create a version with heatsink on cpu. Thank you. Good jobs, congrats.

Excellent thank you.

Hehe, the printing never ends! 😁. I'll be interested to see if that screen fits, but it does seem like wishful thinking πŸ˜›

Why you go and do this? Now I have to print another one... Gonna try the one with the open GPIO pins and see if that screen of mine will fit. I'm almost 100% sure the lid part between the Pi and Screen is going to be too thick... but at least it'll be a nice new case for my Pi
