Here 32 "behind the scenes" photos of one of my Halloween pinup photoshoots! As you may have already guessed I really like to do bodypaint sessions, I think it brings creativity to my photo-project, helps creating a different pinup, and the result is way better than postprocessing the photo to change the skin color... But they are always super long photoshoots. This one it's been 4 hours of make-up, plus 2-3 hours of shooting, plus the extra time I use to record and make content for my socials, because if you are 4 hours putting on a makeup, you have to create content of it! Lol I mean it's not a cosplay that you can take off and on and quickly and usually bodypaint works are projects that you don't repeat so often as a cosplay character, so make it worth it!
This is not a complaint at all, I mean I wish my Patreon grows enough so I could make a living from this and do bodypaints every week, because I love being a extrange creature just a few hours thanks to makeup XD
Also from now on I want to upload more processes and behind the scenes of my projects and photoshoots. I konw a lot of cosplayers do it, but I didn't use to post much of this kind of content here on Patreon for two reasons:
-1: it kills a bit the surprise or the "wow factor" of the final result and although you don't see the final photos, I somehow feel that the final "product" no longer surprise as much as if it was the first thing you see of the project.
-2: Seeing the behind the scenes or "how it was made" sometimes can kill the magic. A photoshoot is not always as glamorous as people use to think, a makeup session can be very boring or sometimes tyring, a creation process can be frustrating and tedious... And in the end showing all that part of a project is stepping down to the "real world" to make content, while showing the final result is more like just showing "the fantasy", and creating that fantasy is what an art project is all about for me.
BUT, on the other hand, I am one of those who keep buying Bluray movies because I love to see how it was made, to see behind the scenes, all kind of work in progress, because that makes me value more the work behind it and the final result. So I have to learn that the process is part of the project, not just the results. And that's exactly why, for subscribers who enjoy watching processes like me, I've decided to start sharing more about what's behind a shoot or WIPs of my creative projects. I hope it doesn't spoil the surprise too much or kill the magic of the fantasy ;)
As always, thanks for reading me, for supporting me and for being awesome!!
Vampi out XOXO
