Dejah Thoris Inspiration (Blog post!)
Added 2023-02-06 15:54:35 +0000 UTCDespite the fact that I have many Dejah Thoris comics and 2 artbooks (and of course also the covers of the novels for reference), in the end what has caught my attention the most as inspiration to create a future Dejah set are the spectacular resin statues of the character... My favorite ones are the Sideshow sculptures.
Dejah and Barsoom people have reddish skin, but I haven't decided yet if I'll go full bodypaint or just illuminate the scene with warmer lights than normal to make my skin look "redder" or nothing at all... I know she is a fictional character from another planet, but is a delicate subject to darken your skin with makeup in natural tones, so I can't decide.
Apart from creating the costume and accessories, I will have to design/build a studio set and decoration to take the photos,mostly because it's not a photoshoot that I can do comfortably in public spaces or open locations ๐
So Dejah Thoris can look as an easy cosplay at first, but for sure this photoset will be a challenge (one that I'm enjoying) โค๏ธ
