I actually did quite a bit of research to find an onsen in Bangkok — and of course, I wanted to make sure it was the safest option. By “safe,” I mean avoiding any cruising or flirting activities. Honestly, I was also hoping to find something more budget-friendly, since places like Yunomori or other family-style onsens can be quite pricey.
After some digging, I came across a few onsens that were labeled as LGBTQ+. Their prices were actually pretty reasonable, around Rp200,000–Rp300,000 (about 12–19 USD) for a full-day pass. After checking more details on each, I finally found one that’s “Men Only” and gay-friendly but with much less cruising activity. I chose this place mainly because it was affordable, close to my hotel, open 24 hours, and, based on my research, had a calmer vibe.
So, on Saturday around 4 PM, I headed there! The onsen has two branches, but I picked the one at Kino Sento Phanon Yothin since it’s easier to access. From the Phanon Yothin BTS Station, you can already spot it — here’s what it looks like!

Here we go! I’m so excited (and a little nervous)!
As soon as you step inside, you’ll find a reception desk where you’re warmly welcomed. Just let them know you’re here for the onsen! The entrance fee is Rp230,000 (about 14 USD), and it gives you access for a full 24 hours — even until the next day if you’d like!
There’s a fridge here in case you’d like to grab a drink — from soft drinks to other refreshments. They also have snacks, instant noodles, and more to keep you fueled up!
After paying, you’ll get a wristband that you’ll use to access your locker. Once you put it on, you can head inside and swap your shoes for the comfy sandals provided in the locker.
After that, you can head up to the second floor. This is where you’ll find the locker room, shower area, changing room, dark room, and of course — the onsen! From here on, phones aren’t really allowed. But you know me — I managed to sneak a few photos (making sure no one was around, of course!).
Just tap your wristband at the locker door to open it. Inside, you’ll find a basket with a big towel, a small towel, and a yukata. The fun part? The yukata comes in two styles — one like a kimono set, and another as a separate top and bottom. It’s totally random which one you’ll get!
Turn left and you’ll find the grooming room, while straight ahead and to the right is the onsen area.
Let’s check out the grooming room first! Here, you’ll find a hair dryer, lotion, and other essentials ready for you. Right in front, there’s a door with a curtain — that’s where the bathrooms, showers, changing area, and sinks are. And just to the left, you’ll spot the mysterious ‘dark room.’
Let’s head to the dark room first! Here, you’ll see plenty of people walking around wearing just towels. Inside, it’s pitch dark — with only two chairs and a few plants. I kept wondering, what’s this room actually for? I stepped in a few times hoping to snap a photo, but usually there were people ‘occupied’… some just sitting around on their phones (even though phones aren’t allowed) while waiting or, well, looking for company. At one point, I even heard people being a bit too busy in there, though it was too dark to actually see. Eventually, I managed to sneak in when it was quiet — and here’s what it looks like.
Now, let’s step into the bathroom area. Here you’ll find urinals, shower rooms, changing areas, and sinks. See for yourself!

There’s also a changing room here. While I was getting changed, someone almost opened the door on me — haha, talk about a nerve‑wracking moment before anything even started! This spot is kind of known as a place to hang out… or even for some solo time. You’ll see what I mean!

After getting ready, I wasn’t quite brave enough to head straight into the onsen — the number of sandals parked out front was a little intimidating! So instead, I decided to explore the 5th and 6th floors, where more rooms and facilities are located. (The 3rd and 4th floors are a gym, but you’ll need a separate ticket to access those.)
On the 5th and 6th floors, wearing a yukata is a must — no going around naked here!

Now, let’s take a look at the difference between the 5th and 6th floors. Both have beds, but they serve slightly different vibes. The 5th floor is more about relaxing — a cozy place to work, chat, or rest. The 6th floor, meanwhile, has a livelier atmosphere for those seeking a bit more… playful fun.
Here are some photos and the vibes from the 5th floor — I absolutely love it!!!
There’s a cozy lounge here, just like a living room, complete with a water dispenser and a variety of drinks like coffee and tea. I chilled out here with some instant noodles I bought downstairs for Rp15,000 (about $0.94). Most people around me were busy with their laptops — working, having meetings, and so on.

Next up, there’s a café‑style room with a big TV. You can use it for watching shows or getting some work done. I even played Raisa’s song Teh Yaya here — YouTube without ads, yayyy haha!

Next, there’s a cozy spot for a nap with sofa beds, complete with blankets and pillows. The lighting is dim, making it super comfy to rest!

Next up — I totally forgot the name of this room, but check out this unique sofa! A few people were hanging out here topless, but not me, haha. Just snapped this photo to add a little extra flavor!

Next — I honestly have no idea what this room is for?! It’s basically just a floor with some pillows and a few wooden tools. Still a mystery to me!
On the same floor, I found another living‑room‑like space with soft, cozy sofas. There’s no TV here — it’s simply meant for relaxation. I even drifted off for a while. At one point, someone tapped my foot, but after I politely said, ‘I’m sorry, I can’t,’ they left.

Finally, my favorite room on the 5th floor! It feels just like Doraemon’s cozy little room, complete with soft woven pillows. This spot is perfect for a safe nap — you can lock the door so no one can wander in or try giving you signals, haha. There are about 5 or 6 of these rooms (I lost count), and they’re always full!

Up next, let’s explore the 6th floor — a space known for its more playful side. Wondering what it looks like inside and what’s waiting there?
Stay tuned . . .
