2025-04-16 15:58:19 +0000 UTCMy interpretation of the ending was that we were seeing her brainstorming process for ending the book, and how she used that as a healing mechanism for herself. The notecards on the wall told the story of all the possible endings she could write. Is it better to take revenge? To try to relate to why he did what he did? To re-imagine it as a beautiful, loving moment? No, in the end, you have to let go of the trauma completely, forget the what-ifs, and move on with the people who bring you joy and comfort in the now. Any satisfaction you'd get from confronting your abuser is short-lived, inauthentic, and ineffective compared to that.

Trick him/catch him where he ends up talking to himself in the 3rd person suggesting he was sexually abused and repeating words that were said to him. She has some empathy for him, but he still gets arrested. This seems like the "hurt people hurt people" ending. 3. Consensual sex where they have equal autonomy -- also an element of her dominating him (though still depicted sensually & consensual -- IMO) 4. Keep under the bed cleaned out and move onward, forward. Spend time with your lovely friend Ben. I DM'd you a link to an interview with her OR I posted the link in the last episodes comment section. I think everyone should watch this series. It's one of the best I've ever seen. I've seen it on lists ranking it high, yet it doesn't have the word of mouth it should have. I'm a huge Michaela Coel fan now. I squealed when I realized it was her in "USS Callister" on "Black Mirror" -- I rewatched that episode before the sequel that's in S7. Anyway, thank you so much for your sensitive responses to this series and the material within it. P.S. I loved seeing Terry continue to date the man she met.
