2025-02-01 04:29:21 +0000 UTCAbsolutely loved you talking about “I’m a man of peace but ready to get active.” Especially because you’re such a lovely chill guy, so seeing you get heated at the injustice feels good because I know where you’re coming from. Giving people grace where possible but pushing back when that’s abused. Also for what it’s worth I found you through your Wire reactions on YouTube 🤷🏻♂️

2025-01-29 21:12:24 +0000 UTCI guess you shine in shows where you can show your intelligence and emotion, where there's room for interpretation. No reactor comes out looking good from one of Netflix filler films. I'd for sure do Derry Girls, Killing Eve

2024-11-21 02:43:49 +0000 UTCI'm glad you found Foxtaco and I. We got big plans coming up. A lot of people have been bringing up Penny Dreadful recently and I just added it to the list. Thank you for bringing it up. And thanks for being part of the community🌸

2024-11-11 19:02:24 +0000 UTCI think you’re absolutely right about the "popular" shows; I'm enjoying IWTV, Hannibal, and Fleabag so much on your channel… And I found you because it's rare to find many other people reacting to these kinds of shows, and your reactions are incredible! You and Taco are my favorite reactors. And as a recommendation, I've given up on it for years because there's absolutely no one who has reacted to this show, but I'll recommend it until the day I die – it's my favorite series: Penny Dreadful. The genre is horror, but there are no jump scares; it’s not that kind of show. It really speaks about how people who don't fit into society, who are different, can still hope to be loved and to find a family that understands them. It’s a deeply emotional series that touches on themes like trauma, family, all mixed with Gothic fantasy, starring Eva Green, an amazing actress. It’s only three seasons long. To me, it’s perfect from start to finish. I've never like a show so much until IWTV came out. I even recommended it to Taco. Although it’s not very well known, it could work precisely because there aren't other reactors who’ve watched it… So there you have it. I’ll never lose hope of seeing someone react to it! 😂 Thank you so much, Frank, for everything you do; it’s very appreciated! 💌

2024-11-06 17:13:02 +0000 UTCYes indeed. The editing is remarkable. As something I recently learned back in immensely improve a scene, are the reaction shots. Seen how every character on that table reacted to every single line that was delivered was Chef kiss. I like everything you said about what all the characters bring to the table and how you enjoy them. Yes Martin, such an obtuse fella 🤣😆

2024-11-06 16:19:13 +0000 UTCI hear you and you're welcome. Feel free to write down all the thoughts as soon as they come. Always know that the feeling is mutual. I always look forward to what you have to say. I learned a lot

2024-11-06 16:15:15 +0000 UTCI'm so glad and I'm here for it And yes flea bags relationship with her sister is so beautiful. She deeply cares for her and that bringing you so much joy. As for the priest, I can't wait to see all the ungodly things that comes out of that chemistry LOL. I love that she's an inspiration for you. What kind of stuff do you write if you don't mind me asking? ouu that sounds exciting. I'll direct message you :)

2024-11-06 16:05:10 +0000 UTCThat is how I read her saying " it doesn't matter" but I took it to 1,000% as a positive. Because it's kind of letting go of the stress or trying to prove a point. And I saw it as part of her Healthy Growth yeahhhhhh I hope those two get what's coming to them in the show Thanks for mentioning that. I'll look it up right now.

2024-11-06 15:57:58 +0000 UTCAndrew Scott (hot priest) is such a brilliant actor. Can't wait for you to see more of him. Based on how much you love Ted Lasso and this I'm very confident you'd really appreciate Bad Sisters, Love (with Gillian Jacobs) and Freaks and Geeks. They're all smaller shows with what would probably be called cult followings. Freaks and Geeks only got one season but it's a masterpiece. They've all got a great mix of humour while also delving into humanity and emotional issues and love and growth etc.

2024-11-04 22:26:11 +0000 UTCI tuned in live for this show... So visually stunning. A travesty that it was canceled even after winning several Emmys and being nominated for more than double the amount it won!

2024-11-04 15:03:41 +0000 UTCFranklin thank you so much for your reply. I had not thought about what I was going to say I just finished watching and at my age I am grateful for every moment I’m still on earth so I tend to just write down what I feel when I’m feeling it because tomorrow is never promised even if you’re young but I’m very happy that I joined your Patreon. You’ve helped me grow in so many ways. As long as a person is still alive, there is an opportunity to grow, and my mission in life is to live life grow let go of old ways of thinking, and make room for new growth just like weeding your garden. I told my grand children you must weed your spiritual garden of anything that doesn’t serve you in your growth spiritually. Just as we pull the weeds from the flower and vegetable garden, so that our flowers and our vegetables have room to grow and develop we must do the same thing for our spirits to give room for beautiful things to grow. Thank you for helping me continue my journey of growth. This community and their comments also help me along my mortal journey. Thank you to all Patreon members who share as you may not know who you are helping with your comments. 💯🙏🏼💖 to this community and of course, you Franklin.

2024-11-04 04:15:25 +0000 UTCLaura, you know I always love your perspectives on the story. I loved every single part of this comment you made. I didn’t even put it together. This whole time that fleabag was their emotional and physical punching bag. It makes so much sense cause after she told them that her business was doing well they had nothing to say. Because they never have something nice to say about her it’s always negativity towards her. So that was new for them. I also love your perspective on her dad and the reason why he’s with the godmother. I absolutely can’t wait for the rest of this season.

2024-11-04 02:10:55 +0000 UTCIs always a happy day when I find people from my interview with the vampire reactions here as well. I can’t wait to explore everything this season two has to offer. It builds upon everything from season one so well. You are right that scene is quite ambiguous. I think it’s because I just chose to view it from positive perspective. And I think it was reinforced by the kind words they shared with each other at the end. When she told him she is very happy for him and he responded with thank you. I aLao attributed her saying it doesn’t matter as part of her growth emotionally. She’s not letting all their issues weigh her down.

2024-11-04 01:59:37 +0000 UTCThat is so true. It’s so realistic. Jesus hanging out with the grandmother wouldn’t have been too fun. Yikes! Some people choose not to change and that sucks. I totally agree with you with the lesson known shows. I’m so happy I found this one. Appreciate you.

2024-11-04 01:30:02 +0000 UTCLove Fleabag and love your reactions. You always have something thoughtful to say. If you like this you should check out Flowers, another weird, complex British (very) dark comedy. And Olivia Coleman is in that one too!

2024-11-03 23:49:54 +0000 UTCI was amazed at the pacing and editing! And it's a "bottle episode", it all happens in the restaurant (except for the getting into the taxi coda, but still). And it's so difficult to write natural conversation that flows like that, where people interrupt each other, and it also shows everyone's unique personalities! Absolutely impressive work.

2024-11-03 16:41:04 +0000 UTCSo excited for this season!!! Gah, I am so behind. I'm moving house and I'm knackered, but I still want to comment on this, and the movies and everything! Your perspective is always so thoughtful and perceptive, it's a joy that you share so generously. As for your rant about shows... I agree so much! At the end of the day, people will gather here for something they can't find elsewhere, so just keep making honest choices. Speaking of which, I'll recommend The Good Place again, because I think it fits what you're looking for: it's not the biggest audience show, but it's well known enough, and it has meat on its bones to comment about human nature!
Lola Lirola
2024-11-03 16:34:57 +0000 UTCwhat do you even compare this too? This show is a gem. I am so curious and delighted to see the story through. And, yes, I do believe its probably a good thing there are only two seasons...there is a story to tell and we can watch and learn.

2024-11-03 15:02:06 +0000 UTCYour perspective on her "it doesn't matter" is so interesting! I've always taken it as - "it doesn't matter what I do or what I say, so I'm just not even going to bother anymore", which seemed to make her dad a bit sad. And honestly, I think the correct emotional response from people who have empathy is to want to smack the SH!T out of Martin and the godmother!! Also also, I just thought of another show that I think you'd LOVE - it's a bit less known and it's from 2007 - it's quirky and very unique, and has a TON of heart - it's called Pushing Daisies.

2024-11-03 12:51:22 +0000 UTCI 3rd this recommendation!!! One of the best series I've ever watched. ❤️ Nora Durst is a character for the ages.

2024-11-03 06:17:01 +0000 UTCThis show is my favorite piece of art for a reason, season two especially. I love seeing you experience it. The Hot Priest is here, and I’m so glad you already enjoy him. Fleabag’s chemistry with him, and Fleabag’s relationship with her sister are just incredible. There’s so much I want to say, but can’t wait for you to see how this story unfolds. While I wish there were more seasons, Phoebe Waller Bridge truly created the perfect piece of work. As a writer myself, she is one of biggest inspirations. Also kinda random question, do you have a P.O. box? Just curious, from a Fellow Fleabag Season Two Loving Patron Who Knows Something You Might Love.

2024-11-03 03:07:25 +0000 UTCTo elaborate for Franklin: its beautifully shot, nuanced characters, explore the theme of grief and familly. The actors are beyond this world, soundtrack to die for. And it's one of those shows where you'll know after the first episode if you'll like it or not. Very atmospheric. Its by the team behind Lost ! (Sorry for any typo, i'm french and my auto correct don't f with english 😂)

2024-11-03 01:23:44 +0000 UTCI’m hoping that we get more backstory to fleabag father and his relationship to their mother. It seems to me that even though fleabag mother may have been a lot like fleabag, and because of that fleabag’s father may have taken the brunt of society judgments that even though he loved his wife May have resented her, but his love for his wife still was very deep and when she died it broke him to the point where he chose a domineering woman who is manipulative, controlling as she never lets him finish the sentence, overrides any attempt for him to bond with his daughters. I think it’s a way for him to punish himself by marrying such a domineering woman in what would seem to be a complete opposite of the woman he married and loved yet had to take ridicule from society. He is not happy in that relationship, you can see it. This family is beyond dysfunctional like many they use fleabag as literally a emotional and now physical punching bag in order to get out their own aggression for how they feel about their own partners and their own relationships. Stuffing their emotions and fleabag is a valve release. I love the introduction of the priest because you can sense that he doesn’t want to be a priest. I love the growth of fleabag that no one will acknowledge because she still has to be the emotional and physical punching bag as they release their own suppressed emotions. Martin is not a rare person in this world, male or female form. They get off on hurting others humiliating others. They are very needy for any type of attention yet they choose the obnoxious character and I realize that Martin sounds American where as everyone else seems to be British. The British have a way of expressing their emotions and gossiping behind closed doors a little bit more than most countries I have visited. That stoic upper lip queens way of behavior. Martin is repulsive but very necessary as a foil for fleabag and her growth. There is only so much anyone can take and fleabag sister has been stuffing her emotions for so very long. Fleabag sister chose to be with a man like Martin so that he can be her outlet of repressed emotions and he can be the bad guy so she can continue to stuff her emotions. This first episode showed her the toxicity of that choice of a man, once her miscarriage happened. Each character has a role to play in this story. I don’t know how the second season will develop. But the last scene where her sister picked fleabag up in a cab and didn’t argue about going to the hospital gave me great hope. I loved it when fleabag punched Martin right in the face because he earned it not because he hurt fleabag, but because his words hurt her sister and her ability to put her own self growth on the back burner for just a moment is growth in itself. Because it wasn’t random or emotionally driven on her own part, it was her ability to stop taking shit from the entire family and their dysfunctional emotional masquerade. The stepmother is a very familiar type of woman. I have come across many times in many decades. She to me is the next one that needs to have a come to Jesus meeting in order to free, fleabag’s dad to decide whether to stay or go. I’m just rambling. I just finished watching the most extraordinary piece of art and I have not taken the time to just parce it all out. This is all off the cuff, but this is a very sick family like an infectious boil that needs to be lanced in order to heal. Everyone wants fleabag to stay fleabag the punching bag and will do everything they can to sabotage her to stay in that place, but she has gone never to return to that place. She doesn’t need there approval or acknowledgment of growth. Fleabag reminds her father of the deep love he had for her mother, and has not been able to reconcile the duality between his deep love and his deep pain of being judged by society for his wife’s antics. Now, of course, this is all speculation. He deeply loves his daughters and the English way has always been to stuff your feelings, but we get peaks into the fun fleabag and her dad and mother had, such as in the scene where they were eating food off the floor reminiscing, but it’s always interrupted by the controlling stepmother and I have a feeling that going forward fleabag’s father and stepmother are going to have a pivotal change. I’m going to project that fleabag and the priest who in my opinion isn’t dedicated to being a priest may just end up being a healthy relationship. Something fleabag has always needed but never received. Please forgive this old woman’s ramblings. I’ve never watched this series. I’ve seen it only when I watch with the Patreon members and you Franklin. So please forgive me if anything I’m speculating on now may possibly be a spoiler. If it is, please let me know immediately so that I can delete my thoughts. I am so looking forward to the rest of the series.the actress and writer “fleabag” is a spectacular writer, actress and producer.

2024-11-03 01:03:20 +0000 UTCThe editing in this episode is phenomenal. The pacing is just insane. Every single line is great. First episode of season 2 - and it's already better than every episode of season 1. Personally I enjoy every single character on this show, no matter how frustrating they might be 😁 Godmother is the worst, but I love her, she's so funny and Dad is really trying...but he is incapable of expressing himself. And even though they say they are happy together it also clearly shows that he is whipped. He doesn't even get a word in because Godmother is interrupting and correcting everything he says. Just think of the moment in season 1 when the food dropped on the floor and how he reacted to it. The first thing he said was "she mustn't see it!" like he was scared of her. I don't think that's a healthy relationship. But she's a complete narcissist so how healthy can it be... Claire is one of my favorites, I love her moments with Fleabag and I love how vulnerable she is around her, but then she tries to be tough and act like everything is fine. Sian Clifford is such a great actress. And I love how lines like "Get your hands of my miscarriage!" can be so dark and depressing but also kind of funny at the same time, because of the way it was said. Martin - I get it, he's by far the most frustrating character. But he actually makes me laugh a lot. Because he is just so obtuse (see what I did there?) basically every line he says is pissing people off and I find it very entertaining. But yeah I love all these people for different reasons - but then there's the hot priest. Obviously I can only comment on this first episode, but he just completely stole my heart. I was already a big fan of Andrew Scott before I watched Fleabag - because of some other very successful and brilliant show he was in (if you've seen it, you know which show I'm talking about 😊) So I had big expectations already. But his performance is so different than what I'd expected and I immediately loved the chemistry he has with Phoebe/Fleabag. I mean the way they were looking at each other in that first episode really got me hot 😂🥵🥵

2024-11-02 23:23:57 +0000 UTCSo excited you are on season 2! I loved the first season, and the way the finale revelation about Boo sets all the previous new episodes in a new light (one of my favourite things when a show pulls it off, as IwtV also does several times), but the second season finds some new levels. I can think of loads of moments I can’t wait for you to get to! I was interested in how you interpreted the scene between Fleabag and her Dad, because I haven't previously read it as positively. When she says “it doesn’t matter” I took it as Fleabag almost saying she was detaching from caring about her family after a year of silence from Claire and her dad still struggling use full sentences around his daughters, and thought her dad seemed taken aback in a bad way. But it is a very ambiguous scene (because they can never express themselves) and I am definitely going to rewatch it and try and take it in with an open mind. (And obviously Fleabag is not actually detatching from Claire! But I think in that moment she feels hurt by the distance between them still)

2024-11-02 22:52:56 +0000 UTCBased on your comment about smaller shows that also are so complex and brilliantly written and based on your enjoyment of analyzing I think "The Leftovers" would be so perfect for you.

2024-11-02 22:49:07 +0000 UTCHey again - I love this show and this season so I'm looking forward to your reaction. I did want to say that characters like Martin or the Godmother are obviously awful but they're also very realistic. My grandmother is exactly like the Godmother down to the dynamic with her husband. And I know about 3 guys like Martin. So I'm glad for them because they really show that some people don't want to change - they can, but they won't. But speaking on what you said in the end, choose shows that you enjoy because a) other people are attracted to your passion and care while talking about them and b) more practically, shows like fleabag and interview with the vampire (though it's starting to become more relevant with the GP) are lesser known and people are looking for reactions to them. I periodically look for reactions to fleabag and get sad when I don't see any new ones. Thank you for your time.
