Over the weekend I was gone, we hit 500 patrons and I'm speechless. It feels unreal. Dawg yall probably won't even comprehend what that means to me. It's not just financial, it's also the validation. I used to pray for times like these. Two and a half years into this YouTube thing and look how far we've come. I can't thank you all enough for the support and the decision to be part of the community. If you're reading this I want you to know that you've had a hand in that and I am so so thankful. Weekly Question: Do you have a best friend?
Over the years, a couple of people definitely fit into the definition of best friend for me. I would say for the last three to four years that is definitely been my wife. 100%. She's usually the first person I want to talk to when something happens. When there's some hot gossip. When I'm at my highest and lowest, we celebrate and mourn together. Roast me and holds me accountable when I'm on some bullshit. She's helped me grow in a lot of ways. I think that all counts as best friend type shit lol

You also reminded me To not fall back on old habits, trying to protect others you love or care about from experiencing growth development, whether it comes in a vehicle of positivity or negativity that you have to trust that the person you care about has the capacity to process and grow from experiences, good or bad. It was never, and has never been my place as a human to intercede in the human growth of another, lesson remembered not forgotten again. I do have one friend in my current location...he is a transplant, like me, and we became friends out of circumstance...but as time goes by, I do think, with effort, we will become best friends. For now, it helps having someone down here that I can relate to and am very grateful for him, whatever our friendship is currently.

My new step dad took me over to the neighbor's house where their youngest daughter was my age and introduced me as his "new daughter". My new friend Jeanie never forgot that. For me its her memory that touches my heart. We became friends and have remained so through the decades! We have laughed together, played pool and ping pong together, learned how to sew together, traveled together and just been there for each other through our separate lives. When I hear the word best, it's Jean, no matter how long its been since we spoke. There is my little story!

I oh, you an apology, I voted for another movie, because I didn’t want to see sadness in your eyes, and what I remember of the Shawshank redemption and it came out. It was very difficult for me to watch because I’m so empathic. The sisters issue was the pain, I never wanted to see in your eyes, my apology is because I treated you like a child, someone who wasn’t mature enough to deal with there own emotions, honestly and openly. For that I dearly apologize.

I saw that movie for the first time with my dad when I was fourteen and it is to this day one of my favorite movies. I'm also a big Morgan Freeman fan, so movies that include him are usually enjoyable to me. The question of the week. Yes, I do have a best friend. I met her for the first time about eight years ago now. I saw her at a welcoming event for our shared major at uni, and I was like, "I want this person to be my friend" and then I got really lucky because we just clicked immediately and we have been friends ever since. I feel really fortunate for that, especially because since I was a child I had always wanted to have a best friend but never had one up to that point and I got doubly lucky because she felt the same way about me. I think it is so sweet that your wife is your best friend! It sounds like you have a really wholesome and supportive relationship. So happy for you!

Every time you mention her, I get the feeling that she's a great woman. I'm glad you both found each other. I would say I have two best friends: I've been lucky to keep my best friend from my very first day of school through all my life! We met when we were 5, so that'd be 42 years of friendship now! We've been there through so many firsts, and life events, weddings, children, divorce, deaths in the family... We don't see each other so much lately, because she became a biologist and went to live in the Amazon while studying a special ecosystem there, but we still keep in touch! The internet works miracles. And then I would say my best friend from college is my closest now, the person I go to when I need sympathy or advice. He's saved my life from depression many times over. And last weekend was his wedding! He finally found a wonderful man who makes him happy, and I loved celebrating their love and the fact that they can get legally married here! It's not something granted everywhere, so it was quite special.

I was kinda shy and nerdy goth and she was the outgoing and popular “sorority girl” type. One day I worked up my courage and told her “hey I’ve decided we should be friends” and it worked 😆. Very silly in retrospect but I was seriously nervous. We balance each other really well and I love her to pieces! She was maid of honor at my wedding and I did the same for her ❤️
