2024-10-22 23:07:16 +0000 UTCI'm gonna recommend What We Do in the Shadows again...it's so good. The movie inspired a TV show, and the TV show is now in it's 6th season. I'm recommending the movie now because the 6th season has just yesterday begun...so 'What We Do in the Shadows' is currently floating around in the ether. The movie is in the current media, its really good, its seasonal, and it plays into the vampire theme for all your IWTV fans. ***Normally, i wouldn't be annoying and recommend a film 2x in a row, but last night we were delighted to learn that season SIX of the TV show was released -- I know hits/popularity isn't your main motivation, but thought you might be interested to know that the new season is happening right now.*** ❤❤❤

You fail to remember that although I express that I'm looking for material that increases volume--I also place a big emphasis on watching and reacting to materials that I genuinely have an interest in. Everybody on here knows that I eventually watch all the movies that I've ever put on any Poll. You guys voting is just to decide which one comes first. Nobody is twisting my arm to watch movies and shows that are more popular with white crowds. Half of the shows I am currently watching/just finished are centered around black characters/people of color and their lives and stories. The wire and interview with the vampire. 3 out of the last 9 movies I did have also centered black characters and their stories. John Q, the help, and hidden figures. So again what are you trying to insinuate? Furthermore, there's nothing in my character or my beliefs that has ever signified that I am not "for the culture" and will not entertain/create space for black stories and projects because I'm chasing what a majorly white crowd wants. I can see how you made a lot of these assumptions to arrive at your analysis. but please do both of us a favor and don't lump me into that demographic of reaction channels that you are talking about. I hate the fact that I had to explain myself like this but here we are. I think it's important to clear the air so that assumptions like these are not made.

We didn't as we'd gone to see some blockbuster of the day but couldn't get in, so took pot luck on this. If it wins the poll, we hope you love it as much as we do, we'll certainly enjoy watching the full reaction on here. Have a great few days away buddy.

Some reactors choose a project on their own or develop polls w projects they've selected on their own. That gives them a opportunity to engage ppl outside of their dominant following. Uve expressed needing material that increases volume. Since white ppl r the majority of yt, projects that cater to thm r more algorithm friendly. Thus limiting exposure of Black projects if reactors r algorithm focused. I can't tell u how often I c channels start w culture related material and get completely flipped & how much they get pigeon held. TikTok always gets the algorithm bias attention but yt is just as notorious

That movie is so deeply embedded in my DNA. It's hard to explain...but its an amazing movie. I bought Fences but I've never watched it. If that one wins, I'll need to break out my DVD so I can form my own opinions first. Next poll you do, please add Nope. That movie should have won awards. Jordan Peele is really good and making his audience have to think deeper.

The story is told backwards and you get more information with every scene. And I'm still not sure how to understand the ending and what the truth is.

There's one scene that I did cover my eyes for (and you do see it coming), but otherwise it's good, and the depth of it makes up for it! I'm hoping it's not too much for him, but if he liked Silence of the Lambs (me too!), I think he can handle it. There's no cruelty tone in the movie, which for me is an important distinction.

If you liked Arrival & Contact, this could be a good contender (body horror content warning - we're not talking 'The Substance,' level atrocities, but there's some mind benders in this one)
