I feel so giddy watching you react to season 1 knowing what's to come in season 2. This show keeps you on your toes, so much happens in season 2 that genuinely shocked me to my CORE.

2024-10-31 01:56:37 +0000 UTCEven if TV often tell us different, psychopaths have feelings, they just experience them differently. And psychopathy is an spectrum, so...that's important. Noone is all bad or all good. It’s curious how someone without a personality disorder, like Jack, can show so little empathy. He’s a policeman who’s seen so much horror that he’s become hardened, losing sensitivity towards those around him. On the other hand, Hannibal, despite being a psychopath, has such highly developed cognitive empathy that he becomes an emotional support for everyone around him.

2024-10-29 12:40:05 +0000 UTCReading it again, I realize now that I sound much more annoyed than I was. I think the shock of the episode was still affecting me and came through in the form of annoyance because I didn't know how to channel it otherwise 😂 But yes, the flesh angels still haunt me 😭 That is an image I won't get out of my head any time soon.

2024-10-20 16:54:56 +0000 UTCSounds good. Thank you. I shouldn't be too bothered watching them out of order

2024-10-19 21:21:31 +0000 UTCI like that. I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking that
Franklin
2024-10-19 21:21:18 +0000 UTCYeah it's kind of upsetting to see a later episode before the previous one. But like a lot of people have said it won't bother the storyline too much I feel you on the flash angels. When you think you've seen the worst, they show you way more. Hopefully we can make it to the end

2024-10-19 21:21:05 +0000 UTCYou were definitely not wrong at the beginning! I was also like I don't know a handful of these scenes - are they from some unreleased footage or something? Because I just watched your episode 3 reaction yesterday so I was really sure that I hadn't seen any of this before and storywise the things they said in the flashbacks didn't make sense for episode 2 or 1 so I was hella confused as well. And then I read the comments and found out it is actually episode 5 and I have to say I'm kind of annoyed that I now know what happens in episode 5 before I ever saw episode 4 - even if they were released in reverse order because of understandable reasons ... Anyway, this episode was the episode where I nearly said, "okay, I'm done. I'm out. I can't. This is just disturbing in a way I'm not equipped to handle." But after I got over the initial shock of the flesh angels I was too intrigued and/or shell-shocked to stop. So here I'm withering in the weird ass feelings that Hannibal feeding people human flesh, emotional manipulation, and some really disturbing murders created within me. No thoughts, head empty, prepared for nightmares. Seriously, I can feel how not prepared I'm for whatever they have in store for us. Also I really hope Will isn't actually dying since he maybe has cancer. Because we have two cancer patients in this episode and they both were heading for a certain death,h and I really don't want that (not that I can actually imagine them doing that because it would mess with the dynamic of the show too much but I have been wrong about plot armour before).

2024-10-16 17:58:05 +0000 UTCThere have definitely been theories that there are supernatural elements to the show, especially with Will’s gift to be able to imagine himself literally at a crime scene before it happens and Hannibal’s sense of smell.

2024-10-16 17:05:26 +0000 UTC100% THIS!👍 Especially since Hugh Dancy (Will), called the show "A fever dream blood opera"

2024-10-16 05:32:47 +0000 UTCSorry (not sorry) for flooding you with comments! As for how supernatural the show is, I wouldn’t call it completely grounded. Maybe “heightened”? Hannibal has a really exceptional sense of smell that may not exist in reality. Will has a really extreme empathy that borders on unrealistic. Some people perform feats that are so implausible that the fandom affectionately has dubbed them “murder wizards” - like how did the angel maker get up there!?!? There’s no real supernatural activity but everything is kinda turned up to 11. It helps the show feel like a fever dream.

2024-10-16 02:18:49 +0000 UTCFYI I sent FoxTaco a message warning him. Thanks for having details on the exact problem, I wasn’t sure if the episode was completely missing or just incorrectly numbered.

2024-10-16 01:42:04 +0000 UTCFun fact: the network forced the showrunner, Bryan Fuller, to ADD gore to this episode. There was a visible buttcrack in one of the “angel” scenes that the network asked him to cover up, so he added blood to obscure it. Evidently butts are more obscene than horrific violence 🙄

2024-10-16 01:42:03 +0000 UTCFrank, I started to watch your reaction and the reason for the confusion & missing scenes is because the episodes are not shown in the correct order by Amazon Prime under free streaming option! You watched Coquilles which is actually Episode 5, not Episode 4 which should be Oeuf (misspelled by Amazon as Ceuf). The reason for the error is that they put them in original release dates NOT the order they were designed to be shown. Back in 2013, Episode 4 Oeuf (French for Egg) was not fully aired because it happened right after the Sandy Hook School shooting & Bryan Fuller thought the storyline of children involved with the plot would cause problems for some viewers. Instead a week later they released only a portion of the Will/Hannibal scenes not involving the children plot as "webisodes". Anyway, I have the 3 seasons as a paid purchase and Season One does show Episode 4 as Oeuf and Episode 5 as Coquilles. The 2 episodes do not impact each other the way some later ones do, so it does not make a huge difference but I thought you'd want to know. You might want to let FoxTaco know about this as well. Thank you for your great reactions & cheers! from a long-time "Fannibal"

2024-10-16 01:10:26 +0000 UTCSpoiler below about which tragedy for those curious….
Valaree
2024-10-16 01:10:05 +0000 UTCOh no! You did miss an episode! Episode 4 is Oeuf. It was originally not aired in the US if I recall correctly, due to themes lining up with a then-recent violent tragedy a little too closely. It is ultimately an episode that can be skipped or watched out of order without too much information being lost, but you did miss one :(
