2024-11-09 13:27:53 +0000 UTCI think it was also that he was somehow offended by the amateurish nature of Hobbs' kills. In addition, the more killers that the FBI is looking for gives him more freedoms for his own pursuits. I think when Hannibal says "I am nothing like your dad." He is almost offended by the comparison. He isn't some passionate killer, who is doing it to displace some weird pedo-incest urges like Hobbs. He is a connoisseur, an artist.

2024-10-12 19:26:15 +0000 UTCI guess Hannibal tried to pin the Copycat kills to that man because the FBI really got seriously trying to find the Copycat. He took the opportunity. Anyway, this show was aired when cable TV was still thr norm and everything was decided by TV ratings. Its ratings weren't getting better.I mean, for a show withthiss much gore and blood being broadcast on NBC was crazy to begin with

2024-10-12 17:02:55 +0000 UTCThanks for joining the conversation 😊 A lot of things I talk through and point fingers at are all part of the videos' "conversation, commentary, and reaction" element. I try to say all my initial thoughts because I feel that adds to the experience. And some part of it is me thinking out loud. You guys are here for my thoughts after all, and not all my thoughts have to be accurate for you guys to enjoy it. In my experience, I enjoy these kinds of stories more when I don't know who to trust and am skeptical of different characters. That includes assuming some characters are guilty until the story tells me otherwise. Especially when coming in, I'm aware that one of these characters is 100% a serial killer and a cannibal. I believe the showrunners had that in mind, that we were aware of what Hannibal was coming in. So they play with that a lot. For example, in episode 1 I'm sure a lot of us thought Hannibal was the one doing the killings. I love everything you mentioned that you enjoy from the show. I'm excited to share the rest.

2024-10-12 04:52:50 +0000 UTCNever commented here before so hello! As someone who has been a huge fan of the main relationship in this show for years but only just started watching it in the last week (I'm on s2), I do find that the experience is more enjoyable if you don't immediately jump to accusing any one character (especially Hannibal) of all crimes or of having malicious intent. Everyone is capable of great good or great evil. I'm a huge fan of Hannibal's character and I like to "let the tale seduce me". He's manipulative but so is literally every other character - it isn't inherently a villainous characteristic. I also believe that Hannibal was correct about what people would say about Abigail's act. He just capitalizes on the reality and can recognize her value to him. Ultimately, I like shows like this because they give me an opportunity to examine human complexity and relish the grey areas. Being right or wrong is less interesting. With all that being said, I'm loving your reactions (you strike a great balance) and look forward to see where your mind goes with it.

2024-10-12 03:30:48 +0000 UTCMan, your horde of IWTV lovers were like "What other show with incredibly fucked up relationship dynamics can we have this guy watch?", lmao. I love you all.

2024-10-12 01:45:56 +0000 UTCThat's fair. I think they also do a great job of mentioning that characters are going to different places. Its left to the viewers to put two and two together.

2024-10-12 01:45:39 +0000 UTCTime and distance are a little squishy in this show. Characters will move from Baltimore to Minnesota to Virginia seemingly instantaneously. Just assume if the timing is off that more time has passed between scenes than you realize. It also helps to suspend a little disbelief - if you’re wondering how Hannibal had time to set up that elaborate scene in the cabin… just don’t worry about it! He’s probably a murder wizard or The Literal Devil. Just don’t worry about it, the show isn’t really about timelines and logistics. 😅
