John Q | Full Length Reaction

hahaha🤣 yap. Every movie that has that song, you just know someone is going to die or come close to dying. Thanks for sharing your 10th grade experience lol

Franklin

😆 the reaction just started and you already made me laugh when you said that the movie was gonna be sad when you heard Ave Maria. I was in my high school’s choir and I had to sing that my entire 10th grade year and ever since then whenever I hear it in media it’s always something depressing 😂

So so iconic. And the way he said it's too. Perfect. Unfortunately, I don't think it's something that will ever change. It seems like Healthcare will always be for-profit. That shit is not even ethical. My goodness. I'm glad your mom was on the other side. Being so close to tragedy always makes one look at life differently. All the what ifs. I love that your conclusion to that was "TV medicine is always funny" .. I can imagine you watching a show and being like " that does not happen like that"

Franklin

haha I'm glad you stuck with it too. absolutely!!! her beating her abuser was one of the best moments of this film. Totally worth it indeed. And he might get off quicker for good behavior

Franklin

yessss. I absolutely loved their relationship

Franklin

I've started to notice that Denzel has so many wonderful characters that he has played but unfortunately, he won an Oscar for playing a violent thug crooked police. Which is sad because he has so many beautiful roles like this..

Franklin

I always think that too, but I don’t know what I’d do or how I’d act if my son was dying either 😔

Great performance by Denzel. “I am not gonna bury my son! My son is gonna bury me.” Iconic. Issues are definitely too real, and unfortunately have not changed much in the however many years since this movie’s release. It’s one of the reasons I like to work in hospice (end of life care). Without the need for aggressive therapies, there’s less issues with insurance. Still, there are plenty of times we have to tell a patient or family that they can’t have something b/c Medicare won’t pay for it, or that if they want the $500+ medication they’ll have to pay for it out of pocket. It always sucks. Can’t imagine having to be in the position of denying life-saving care though. It is nice that the hostages never really felt threatened. There was a while 15-20 years ago where shootings and active threats in US hospitals seemed to happen too often. I remember being home with my mom when she saw on the news that there had been a shooting in the ER of the hospital she worked at. The man had unfortunately killed a nurse that my mom said was one of her nicest coworkers. She was absolutely devastated. My mom worked in a completely different department on the other side of the hospital, but it’s still scary to think what could have happened had she been working. Also, as an RN, I have to point out that the male health care worker that’s usually in the son’s room is 100% a nurse, not a doctor 😆 You won’t see a doctor do any of that stuff on the floor. And for the ER nurse to know the job of an operating room nurse is pretty out there too. There are way too many specialties for a nurse to be an expert in it all. But hey, tv/movie medicine is always funny.

That was great! I was going to give up as it was unrealistic - until the woman beat her abuser: I was so satisfied and decided to stick with it. I again felt satisifaction when he beat on the sniper. I'm really happy to have watched this and I never would have if not for this channel. And...3-5 years, even if he does all of it, i think would be totally worth it.

It always gets me. 😢 Just great! Stellar performance.

I don’t really think it was right for the wife to come down so heavy on John. 😢

Carol Rocha

This score is so appropriate. Sounds like Stevie Wonder. 🎶

Carol Rocha

He gonna go “Robert McCall” on them…….🫣

Carol Rocha

Excellent movie!! 🍿 It is emotional but not too much action. One of DW best performances IMO. Not “violent” like some of the others. He’s such a tender Dad.
