You've got great classics on this list (Cookoo's nest is a Kubrick classic, color purple is my fave Spielberg, the transitions are gorgeous & story heartbreaking. Back to the future is an almost perfect movie for any audience) Glory & Contact are great stories, human spirit. Lady bird and sunshine are superb family (dysfunctional) dynamics. Momento is another great movie about Time and memory, it's a trip.

2024-07-03 15:07:49 +0000 UTCIn full disclosure - I havent seen Glory, Lady Bird or Contact - but this is a hard list to review because the movies are all so different. Back to the Future is such a classic, and considering all that's happed to Michael J Fox since then - and his impact in the entertainment world, I don't see how you can skip over it. Little Miss Sunshine was subtle but super humorous and is one of those movies I've watched many times because it has parts that are just so good. I picked the Color Purple because of the excellent characters, story line and directing that Steven Spielberg did - but it's also a serious drama that I wouldn't say is a "fun" movie to watch. Momento is definitely a different movie too. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest I would prob give a pass on - while it was good for it's time, it's not the best movie about mental health, and not even Jack Nicholson's best movie.
