The second one is more of the same although I like it a little better because we are already familiar with the world and the characters, so they have room to expand upon that. I will say that I LOVED the third one. I did not see the twist in that one coming at all. I would recommend you do the second if you plan on eventually doing the third as there is some crossover between them. Also, Christopher Nolan did an exceptional magic movie called The Prestige. It stars Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman. It has much more depth and character exploration and examines how far magicians would really go to come out in top. Highly recommend. 8.5 on IMDb.
