So first, it's always been Spanish Jackie, but her character is very loosely based off a French pirate so I'll allow your confusion π Oof, this was a pretty shocking ending. I didn't think they'd do that big character thing they did. The fandom is kind of on fire/in shambles right now. David Jenkins has said that they purposely wrote it without a cliffhanger ending in case they didn't get renewed so it's a satisfying story as it is, but they still left the door open for all kinds of s3 plot (revenge, reopening Spanish Jackie's bar, Ed and Stede realizing they're terrible at being innkeepers and going back to the ship, etc.). David also said that Frenchie is captain now since he was the last first mate. David has also been talking about s3 in every interview he's done and Max has been promoting the show A LOT, in a way that doesn't seem like they'd do if they were canceling the show (for example, they added ofmd profile avatars to the Max app today and the official account has been liking a bunch of tweets that mention the renewal). The wild card seems to be the SAG-AFTRA strike, but there's hopefully a deal coming there soon. I'm really glad you enjoyed the season and I'm really glad you reacted to s1 because that was how I found your channel in the first place! Hopefully we'll be back for s3 soon enough
