If you're having a bad day don't read this. This is me having a bad day essay.
The picture is ominous, and that's how I'm feeling right now.
We've been under attack since always: gamers, thinkers, horror lovers, musicians, writers, dancers, enthusiast (weapons, sports, fashion, food, etc) and people with specific LEGAL tastes that doesn't hurt ANYONE - that's us.
As society becomes more liberal, somehow freedom feels worse than it was under the rules of some fictional stories, because now you can ONLY think or consume what your credit card overlords say you can consume.
As acceptance of new things spreads around, I mean, anyone can be a comic reader nowadays different to what it was in the 1950's where you would be called "useless", a strange trend is making it impossible think, to make comics, games in the last years, even to be happy seems to be a sin, and now we're on the verge of writing an extra chapter from that famous "1984" book with out lives.
I won't go long, but we know the credit card operators and some money people are trying to strangle us. In the beginning there were some victims, now even defenders of such restrictions had their work restricted, and this is growing fast: first books, then manga, then anime, then comics, then movies, then games, then toons, then sports, then drinks, then... will you be even able to think whatever is not allowed by the credit card overlords?
Happiness? Entertainment? But we're adults, right, we should have that too, shouldn't we?
IDK. If I answer this questions I might be prosecuted in a couple of years if things keep going the way they are right now.
As for me, I'll keep dreaming, I'll keep doing my best and hoping the best... I'm a little sad right now but, nothing that building the next BPE draft won't fix, right?
Don't stay down, we'll figure something out.
