Mindfull 2 WIP 2

Hello! Alright so here is a WIP for the 2nd image of “Mindfull” and hope you guys like how its turning out so far! I thought tackling the most difficult part of the set would be the best to get it out of the way first. I was dabbling between the outfits of what I wanted to use for pearl, her Chille Tid Mom outfit, original outfit, diamond outfit, and I went with her diamond outfit because I love how the color scheme is laid out, the dress itself. I thought it was a great opportunity to show just a tinge more leg, and I also could say it helps with the whole “servant” idea since it’s her diamond outfit. I didn’t forget about the translucent overlay for the dress, I will be adding that on later for sure! I feel I may have made a mistake on how I drew the dress portion because it seems more “poofed” out and not weighted now that I look at the original design.

I started realizing something when rendering this and its that I feel like I was “blurring” certain areas the wrong way. Saying it like that sounds quite puzzling but ever since I decided to make more of an effort in simplifying shapes including my shading and producing more “refined sketch” content, I had the opportunity of just playing around with shapes almost constantly. I think I may have discovered a tiny little change that I’m happily enjoying but I can’t quite articulate what it is. I hope that it’s showing with the legs because that when I rendered Yangs thighs in the second page of the comic, that’s where I believe I accidentally found what I’ve been doing wrong for so long. It’s something that I noticed with artists like Kunaboto and Metal Owl do very well and I was curious on how to do that method.

I seriously can’t wait to apply this to some full rendered works because I’m really enjoying it!
