Thomas Holm Face Time Shoot

One thing Elle and I are especially stoked on is that she has worked with two giant icons in the industry: James Felix (@jamesfelixraw) and Thomas Holm (@thomasholmphoto).  I've been planning on taking Thomas Holm's 4-day workshop at the Palm Springs Photography Festival, but you know, the Covid Pandemic happened, and who knows when he'll be able to get back into the States....

In order to keep his business somewhat running he scheduled a couple of remote shoots from Denmark over the summer.  Elle was one :)

While I have mixed feelings about remote (or Face Time shoots) myself, Elle couldn't pass up an opportunity to work with one of the Elites of nude photography.  If you really enjoy his work, besides Instagram, be sure to check out his Patreon and Onlyfans.

The entire video pushes 1 hour 40 minutes with mostly interviewing, we've uploaded the 30 minutes or so of the actual shoot.

Happy New Year!  We'll see you next year from our Air BnB in Palm Springs!  Vid, Polaroids, and  exclusive Patreon content on the way!!!

That was too long a comment, huh? I'll be the first person banned from Patreon yet!!!

The BEST of this video is to hear Elle's voice and especially what she is saying: thoughts and her feelings toward her own modeling. On your concerns, Elle, about about facial expressions and how it fits into to your ideas of "sexuality," I think you called it -- Holm balked at that term for "slight eroticism" and "some sensuality"..... If you study some of the professional erotic or "sexual" modeling, the two maybe three secrets are, TO MY amatuer view: 1). Part your lips, whether in a smile or, most often, a neutral "look" -- leaving mood to the eye of the viewer, especially if you aren't too expressive of one mood over another; 2). Eye contact with the viewer/camera...direct eye contact creates "intimacy" or "contact" with the imagined viewer; but other eye-gaze directions evoke other moods that can be different yet still "sexual" (whatever that means to you, Elle....we won't ask that rascal of a photographer you HAPPEN to now...LOL); 3) How much of your face/expressions you choose to reveal and/or try to incorporate some "artistic" lights/highlights and their opposites of shadows, obscuration (by hair or hands....hands are just as effectively "sexual" in obtaining that mood or tone of "sexuality." I tell you that you should have NO trouble mastering these as I witnessed you just naturally do all these things with your hands and eyes and expressions -- the lighting was too "flat" (not a criticism) to experiment with how light impacts the image's "expressiveness" of what YOU want the viewer to see/feel.....but you, of course, realize that the Artist puts a LOT into the picture but the viewers, each and every one, takes what they can -- far too often, what you may not have wanted or (don't let this get you all self-conscious about subliminal or subconscious content BS-talk) INTENDED. All that said, I was just extremely happy to see a Professional Model and Artist (both YOU!!!) speaking and articulating....that's what video gifts us all. Thank you....and say "Hey!" to that unnamed and unknown cameraman who hangs around you in all sorts of strange places -- LOL....except he probably hates me now, your TNDHubby, I mean....not Mr. Holm). I still hate Vimeo -- can't figure out how to save a video...digital content is all-too ephemeral (and NO, I don't steal and/or distribute or invite the kidz in the block to view your work...they're irredeemable barbarians!!). And YES, I completely understand why you chose Vimeo and will continue to use it. Vimeo or no, I'll be a Patreonic Supporter until the Debtor's Prison comes for me!! Best wishes, health, deserved good fortune for the New Year to you, Elle, and yours....yes, even We-All-Know-Who...the Lurker-In-The-Threshold...ha-ha-ha, again, as he reaches for a blunt instrument to use upon me.
