Real Quick

So, last week we headed down to SE Arizona  and the town of Willcox, home of old school, cowboy country singer Rex Allen aka "The Arizona Cowboy".  We were on a mission taking advantage of the October New Moon to capture the Milky Way in Chiricahua National Monument.

On the way home we made our way through Saguaro National Park.  We couldn't resist jumping out for a quick few shots ;)

Hope you don't mind the Milky Way shot either :)

Ohh - it was too cold. Sorry about my ignorance. I should not have jumped to conclusions. Glad you didn't push it. There is always another night ... and the Milky Way isn't going away so soon (only our views of her will get more rare with the climate shifting rapidly ;-) Re Sean Parker: Honestly I don't remember the name of the photographer of the colorful Saguaros exhibited at the Tucson airport back then. I doubt it was Sean Parker, but possible. Sean Parker's style is more elaborate, from what I have seen so far. Those were simply done with 1-2 remote flashes with a colored filter on them (cellophane is just one possible assumption - that's how I did mine...)

Disparage Elle(n)? Never! But I have seen shots of the sky and Milky Way that look like Hubble telescope photos; the rock outcroppings give some perspective to the celestial. Elle (man, you all at Naked Desert should introduce yourselves to latecomers like me, at least, and tell me what name's I should use)..

... oh those quick few shots often turn out better than elaborate planned shoots! ... at least you took the time to clear the ground from rocks and needles for Ellen to pose bare-footed)! What a brave spontaneous woman you got - 1 in a hundred million ... (mine would just laugh at me if I dared a similar request ...[my wifey has many qualities, but posing nude in the desert is not one of them - sadly ...]) I don't mind another Milky Way shot, but without Ellen in it it's kinda boring ... I imagine her lying stretched on her arched back, decorating that bare lit rock to the left (uhm the "other left" - lol) , while she admires the Milky Way like the rest of us ... now THAT would be a shot to remember .... And don't be afraid to put a color filter (or just red/purple/gold cellophane paper) on your flash. Colored night shots made some Saguaro photographer famous enough to feature on TUS airport walls for a long time ;-)
