Ann: Clarification on Update Schedule & Visibility

Dear Patrons,

First of all, I'm really sorry if there’s been any confusion lately about when updates are supposed to drop. Some of you might have been expecting content on a specific date, only to see nothing show up. This wasn’t me breaking the promise, it was due to some unexpected mechanics about how Patreon handles post visibility after I updated membership tiers on May 5th.

Right now, Tester+ members get early access to builds four days before User Tier. Since all post titles and covers are still visible to free members, I assumed that Tester+ posts would show up to User Tier the same way. Based on that, I didn’t specify what tier each release post was meant for, because I thought everyone could see that the post existed.

At first, I thought I messed up the visibility settings, but after double-checking with Patreon, this is how their system currently works.

To prevent further confusion, here’s what I’ll do from now on:

• Every update announcement will clearly state which membership tier it’s for

• I’ll also post a separate “public-visible” update schedule so everyone knows the current status and timeline

In hindsight, there were a few signs, like people asking “when’s the update coming?” even though it was already posted, or getting surprised by a sudden NBMD release. I genuinely didn’t realize this was a visibility issue, and I apologize for not catching it earlier.

Special thanks to jose_1, Nick Nosferatu, and ConspicuousChanneler for your feedback. It was kind of a lucky accident that this got uncovered, but thanks to you, I’ve been able to correct course; otherwise I probably would’ve kept being totally unaware…

NBMF v0.8.0 Release Schedule:

• Tester+ Access: June 1st

• User Aceess: June 5th

This update is taking a bit longer than usual. Earlier this week I traveled out of town to visit a friend who just had brain surgery, and this weekend I’ll be with another friend who's planning a proposal—so that’s about three full days lost from development time.

Also, the RTX 5090 is finally widely available now. Since I want to speed up development and because I believe more and more powerful AI models will continue to emerge, demanding stronger hardware, I spent some time researching an upgrade to the 5090 (not yet, pending on selling the current PC first). I’m also planning to sell the PC I built back in March.
And… yeah. I got scammed in the process.
Taiwan really is a scammer’s kingdom...

NBMD v0.2.0 Update Plan:

This one’s likely going to be pushed to July, after NBMF is completed. Right now, each NBMF update is getting bigger and more complex and the final three releases will include branching story paths so I realistically won’t have enough time to work on NBMD until the main game is finished.

首先很抱歉，最近可能讓大家誤以為某些內容會在特定時間上線，卻遲遲沒有消息。這並不是我沒遵守承諾，而是因為在 5/5 調整會員權益後，我對 Patreon 的顯示機制產生了誤會。

目前 Tester+ 層級的會員可以比 User 層級提前四天取得新版本內容的存取權限。不過，由於所有文章本體（如標題與封面圖）對免費用戶仍是可見的，所以我原以為 User Tier 也是可以看到 Tester+ 的文章，只是內容上鎖。基於這個誤會，我之前在公告更新時沒有特別標明是提供給哪個層級，導致部分會員誤以為更新尚未釋出。

一開始我還以為是我設定錯誤，但後來與 Patreon 確認後才發現，這就是目前平台的運作方式。

為了避免再次出現類似情況，未來我會：

• 在提及更新時間時明確註明適用的會員層級

• 額外發一篇「所有會員皆可見」的公告文章，確保大家都能掌握最新進度與釋出安排

事實上，之前就有一些蛛絲馬跡，例如 Tester+ 文章發布後仍有人來問「更新什麼時候上？」或者 NBMD 更新後有人驚訝「怎麼突然多了個版本？」真的很抱歉當時沒意識到這是顯示權限的問題。

也特別感謝三位會員 jose_1、Nick Nosferatu 和 ConspicuousChanneler 的提醒。雖然是在有點陰錯陽差的情況下才發現這個問題，但也正因為你們的回饋，才能及時做出調整，不然我可能還會繼續蒙在鼓裡……

NBMF v0.8.0

預計釋出時程如下：

• Tester+：6/1 上線

• User：6/5 開放

這次更新稍微拖得久一些，主要是因為本週一我去外地探望剛動完腦部手術的朋友，週末又要陪另一位朋友去求婚，整體有三天左右的時間無法開發。

然後目前 RTX 5090 已經供貨正常，為了加速開發，以及因應未來我相信會出現越來越厲害、但也越來越吃硬體資源的 AI 模型，我花了一些時間研究升級到 5090（但要等到成功賣掉現有主機），並打算賣掉我三月才剛組好的主機。結果還遇到詐騙，台灣真的是詐騙王國……

NBMD v0.2.0

預計會延後至 7 月，也就是 NBMF 完結後才會推出。
主要原因是目前 NBMF 每次更新的內容量越來越大，而且未來的三次更新還會包含不同的分支劇情。為了確保主線能夠順利完成，我應該不太可能同時騰出額外時間處理 NBMD 的開發。
