I’ve seen artists do this thing where they block out the subject of their artwork in grey (Vocaloid illust) - I don’t know what it’s called, but I find it’s very helpful when you want to see what the silhouette of a pose looks like. 👤
For the Tsubaki & Pepero illustration, I got inspiration from the way some of the Project Sekai cards are drawn, with a special focus on one character - if you Google it and look at the ones with backgrounds you’ll see what I mean. I’m trying to capture a similar energy to those cards, with the bright colors and slanted perspective so that it looks like a candid shot. 📷 The final will look a lot different, but here I was trying to get the feel for the scene. 😁
And a small announcement -
In the upcoming next two weeks I will most likely have less posts here, due to finals and other ending semester activities. My hand is also beginning to show signs of overuse, and I will need to rest it more frequently so that it doesn’t become injured. 😅 In the meantime, I will be working on these two illustrations in between! I will upload some progress shots when I’ve made some progress on either.
If you also have finals coming up, I wish you the best! We’re almost done.
Thank you for reading! And happy spring 😁🌸.
