So, what comes next?
Added 2018-04-03 16:05:26 +0000 UTCHi guys. First of all, I'd like to take a quick moment to say holy shit thank you guys so much. More than 300 of you guys have, just on the basis of an April 1st post and an early demo build, opted to pony up and support the new CoC team.
So let's talk real quick about where that money's going, and what we're doing next.
You guys have probably seen the UI mockups already, but if not, check these out: https://imgur.com/a/Xh2Sr
That's where a goodly chunk of the money for the first month is going. I've thrown about $800 at DCL to make the art assets for the UI, as well as the Patreon/Wiki and Fenoxo.com sidebar banners. Another $600 is earmarked for Wsan (writer of Haley, Edan, and the Dryad and male Milodans from TiTS) to write up one of the first companions: the Minotaur warrior Brint. There's been a pretty steady outcry for male companions, and I think Brint will scratch that itch nicely. Of course, I'm working on Cait, your catgirl priestess companion, for the more female-oriented among you.
The rest of the first month's take is going to be going to UpcastDrake, the guy who made all this possible. He's our coder, and he built the engine and implemented everything you guys have seen on his own time so far, and it's going to be nice to be able to start paying the man for his efforts.
So, what's going to actually get added next? That's what you're all here for, right?
At the moment, Drake is working on implementing DCL's UI assets and refactoring the actual combat engine for the game. What you see in the tutorial adventure right now is something of a placeholder -- you could probably guess, from the rudimentary combat texts. There's a design document up in the Event Writer's Guide on the forum, if you wanna check out the system that's going to be finalized for post-release.
Once we've got combat sorted out (again) and at least enough UI implemented to make the game not an eyesore, we're moving straight to the first area that's been written: the Foothills east of the village. Here, the PC and companions will be able to encounter orcs, harpies, and wyvern-girls (among others, to be written). Enough has already been written to give you guys some meaty content to sink your teeth into, and we're excited to start rolling it out for you.
So stay tuned! The next week or two is mostly going to be mechanical and appearance upgrades (and bug fixes, of course, plenty of those), and then we're gonna start pouring out the lewd goodness you all expect.
Thank you again for all your support so far. <3

A bit late coming here to throw in a bit of support, but I love fantasy roleplay and naughty stuff. I posted a reply to the blog post regarding the katakana used in the load screen and logo; I can't say I'm all that fluent, but I am of Japanese descent and have been translating poetry and short pieces, and would love to do some more as practice for regaining my fluency and furthering my skills.

2018-04-11 07:13:24 +0000 UTCHi first of all I would just like to say I am super excited about CoC 2 when I first saw it on the blog I thought it was an April fools prank but when I played the demo I neatly shitted myself. Anyways thank you, and I look forward to see what direction you take the game.
2018-04-05 04:37:36 +0000 UTCOh gosh I remember way back when the original CoC was being worked on! It'll be great to finally get that CoC itch scratched!

2018-04-05 02:31:44 +0000 UTCOh my gosh I can't believe CoC2 is finally in the works! Don't get me wrong I love TiTS but I prefer fantasy over Sci-fi and with a more in-depth combat system and male companions <3 I sooo can't wait!
