The forest held its breath. Shadows stretched long and deep, and the full moon hung low above the treetops, pulsing with a silvery heat. Lira stood barefoot in the grass, her skin shimmering with sweat and anticipation. She felt it before she saw him. The low rumble in the earth. The scent of musk and wildness, sharp as pine and fur.
Then he emerged.
A beast. Towering, rippling with sinew beneath a thick coat of dark fur. His eyes glowed like twin embers, fixed on her, primal and possessive. His nostrils flared as he inhaled her scent, something between hunger and reverence etched into his features.
He approached without hesitation, claws grazing her skin as he grabbed her. She gasped as his powerful hands lifted her, holding her effortlessly. Their faces hovered close, lips nearly brushing.
And then he kissed her.
His tongue was thick and hot, far too long to be human. It pushed into her mouth with slow, deliberate force, filling it completely. Her lips parted wider, helplessly, her breath stolen by the intensity of it. The texture was slick, wet, pulsing with some ancient energy. It curled around her own tongue like a living thing, tasting her deeply, possessively.
Something shifted.
She moaned into his mouth as warmth erupted inside her, like molten silver flooding her veins. Her muscles clenched, then released in waves. The change began subtly. Her spine arched unnaturally, pleasure laced with pain as her bones reshaped. Her hands clawed at his shoulders, nails thickening into sharp, curved talons.
His tongue never left her mouth.
It kept moving, kept pushing deeper, as if guiding her transformation with each motion. Her skin prickled. Fur sprouted along her arms, down her thighs, over the curve of her hips. Her ears lengthened into points. Her tail burst forth, twitching with feral excitement.
She should have been terrified, but all she felt was heat, hunger, and surrender.
Her breathing quickened, now shallow and sharp, and her eyes glowed faintly in the dark. Still locked in the kiss, she whimpered, and he growled low in response, the vibration traveling straight through her.
When he finally pulled back, a strand of saliva still connected them. She was panting, trembling, halfway between human and something more. Something wild. He looked at her with satisfaction, a wicked grin playing over his lupine face.
"You belong to the night now."
She didn't answer. She only tilted her head and howled up at the moon, voice raw with desire and something newly awakened.
