Cobra Kai S06E14 - Strike Last FULL REACTION

Comments

I know this is way late, but I just watched your reactions to the early season 6 episodes and I have to disagree on Johnny not caring about Devon. When he saw her with Cobra Kai, he tried to talk to her, but Chozen stopped him. There is also a deleted scene of after she runs out after Tory beat her he again tries to talk with her but Chozen again stops him so they could focus on Silver. And in the season before when he meets her, he was impressed by her attitude and actually listened to her advice on how to win the championship. He's never done that for any other student except Miguel.

6-14 Good episode. Both fighters won there individual fight points, but for the winning dojo they used the total accrued points for all the fights. With Iron Dragon being ahead by quite a few points. That’s why Sam pulled out. Miyagi-Do was so far down in points after Robbie’s loss, there was no way to catch-up. But Cobra Kai wasn’t that far down. They were able to catch up with the wins by Tori and Miquel but ended up with the dojo’s having the same point count. I thought they were going to have Tori win using the Drum technique, after Sam talked about it. I’m glad they didn’t. I like call backs but at the end here I prefer to see the new generation creating their own moments. Both fights were well choreographed. I liked it was a challenge but at same time, both were dominant wins. The way they were showing the points and how the numbers were adding up, I started thinking they might end this in a tie. I also thought, wow, wouldn’t it be crazy if they had the sensei’s fight. But I was thinking Daniel fighting Silver and Johnny fighting the Iron Dragon guy. Damn, Silver was paying well. That yacht had to be worth 10 to 20 million. I was thinking the same thing about a bomb when I saw the cigar and the use what you got thing, but win Kreese threw the cigar at him, I thought, Oh, so that’s that then. But when I saw the fuel spilled on deck, I was like, OK, that’s how they are going to do it. I think I would have preferred them go out actually fighting. They should be a equal match. Kreese older and more broken down and Silver sick from cancer. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Series I left my opinion on whether this series is better than the movies for here because this is the final episode where comments will be read in reaction. I feel for me it goes better here where I will discuss the entire series. The original movies will always hold a special place in my heart. In saw it at the theater when it came out. I was in the US Navy in training far from home. I had been recently transferred there and I didn’t know anyone. I found out a theater was near the base so I walked a couple miles to it. When I got there I saw that KK was going to start playing in under an hour, I didn’t know much about it but figured, WTH. I really liked it. Over the next month whenever I had nothing to do and wanted to pick-up my mood, I would go to same theater and watch it again. With that in mind, I do feel the writing on this series is better than the movies. The acting is also well done. In an interview I saw, Ralph Macchio said he had turned down numerous offers to do more movies but he always turned them down because he felt they scripts didn’t do honor to the legacy of those movies. But when he read Cobra Kai, he agreed. If nothing else, that says something about the writing. I will not say its been perfect, there were things I didn’t like but overall, I think they did an amazing job of not only recapturing the magic of the original movies but even surpassing it while paying special homage to those movies. Most series I can at least give a rough feel for my favorite seasons but here I think all the seasons in general were done so well, I can’t really pick a best or worse season.

Hard to believe but we are here. The penultimate episode to the series is in the books and we only have the series finale left. Before I go into the journey of the show as a whole though, let me talk a bit about this episode. I thought that Miguel and Tory both winning was great, because throughout the series they were the underdogs that could never seem to really catch a break. Now though, they are world champions. Axel not going for the move that Wolf and Silver wanted him to do was also a nice moment. He realized that the tutelage he's been enduring is not normal or good and he also felt bad about injuring Robby. Plus he still had a soft spot for Sam and realizing that Miguel was her bf, he didn't want to hurt her by hurting him. The Kreese and Silver ending was weird to me. The whole sequence felt like it was a dream or a hallucination. The way it was shot, plus how they were fighting wasn't normal. But I guess since they were on a boat, it can be hard to keep your balance. Ok, so this show has been an incredible experience. First of all, thank you for deciding to put it on your regular weekly schedule. Now, as someone that was a kid when the movies came out, seeing all the respect that they gave the movies in making this series was just so incredible. All the characters that came back were played by the same actors. They kept the message of the movies true in this series and also gave everyone really good character arcs. Johnny, let's face it. He was the bully in Karate Kid. But he learned a lot and became a lot more in this series. Chozen, also was a nothing more than a bad guy that bullied and wanted to kill Daniel. But he became so much more and was just about everyone's favorite character. Even seeing how far all the students have come was really great. Besides Tory and Miguel, Hawk, Demitry, Robby, Anthony, Kenny, and all of the other young karate prodigies all had stories. Too bad the series is ending. They could make at least 5 more seasons and I would watch them. But it is better to go out on your own terms and have a definitive ending than start to get shitty and get cancelled. Looking forward to seeing what you thing about the ending!

Dude I am Loving part 3 Miguel and tory winning the sekai takai with cobra kai feels perfect a real full circle moment. Robbies ending while sad feels fitting. After a crushing loss like that it would be easy to feel angry and resentful instead we get a beautiful scene between him and Johnny in which Robby realises that karate has given him everything he could ever want in life allowing him to feel pride in himself and accept his loss gracefully not let it define him. Kreeses redemption is finally complete his scenes with Tory and Johnny were incredible and gave us some of the best acting of the series. I've heard a lot of people complaining about the ending of episode 14 but I thought it was perfect. Though Kreese and Silver dying together was a surprising twist, this ending makes perfect sense when you consider their overarching stories. Kreese saved Silver's life by volunteering to take his place in a death match. For this, Silver owed Kreese his loyalty, but their friendship would slowly change into something more sinister and coodependant on silvers part. Though they went their separate ways after Karate Kid III, Kreese would manipulate him into returning to the dojo and his evil ways during season 4 meaning that Silver truly was a monster of kreeses own making. Every terrible thing that Silver did was on Kreese's shoulders. Therefore, it was up to Kreese to ensure that Silver could never hurt anyone again completing his redemption and ending 40 years of history. Daniels arc this season has been great and I look forward to seeing how his story continues into the finale and beyond. Really looking forward to the finale lewis tan (sensei wolf) is an amazing real life martial artist and his portrayal of wolf has been incredible and seeing him take on Johnny for the world title in the valley will be awesome it gives johhny a chance at redemption and brings his story full circle. Speaking of wolf I'm hopeful for an Iron Dragons spin off. don't get me wrong I've loved these characters but I think they would have benefited from being introduced to us a little earlier. Especially with wolf being set up as the final antagonist after silvers death. Axels journey across part 2 and 3 has been one of my favourites and seeing him finally stand up to wolf was a great moment. His obsession with sam while unhealthy was crucial in his final decision to ignore Wolf's orders and fight with honour. Her kindness and acceptance became something for him to strive for.

Absolutely loved these 2 episodes i love the inclusion of Miyagi and I saw them talking about how they were able to do it aswell as they did which was definitely quite interesting I know a lot of people are going to be against it for their own ethical reasons and that's fine I loved it. I was also very worried when we got to the Sekai taikai at the start of the season because it would be Robbie and Sam. I understand from a fan perspective they should win as neither had a tournament win yet. Still to me, as the series went on it always had to be Tory and Miguel winning the Sekai takai so I was happy for the pivot in this final part even if that's a controversial opinion. The moment where Kreese was able to make amends somewhat for his past deeds and come together with Johnny was just amazing I wouldn't of written it any other way and the way he takes on Terry for the most selfless of reasons its just too good and as a whole I'm so glad they spent so much time throughout the series humanizing him even if the Kreese arcs weren't always well received by everyone. Can't wait for the final Part COBRA KAI NEVER DIES

That ending sucked ass... Not because they died. It's because of how they died... I mean a boat explosion? Seriously? Other than that I liked THIS episode WAY more than the last haha. I like how in this whole season they was doing a full circle thing with both dojo's. First with Sam, and Robby being the original Miyage do students then had them be co captains for the beginning of the season. Now that Cobra Kai is back it's doing the same thing with Miguel and Tory where they started off with Johnny, and co captains. The reason the scores tied up, is because Miguel's opponent wasn't able to get anymore hits on him the last few minutes of the match. Each hit is 1 point. A take down is worth 10 points. Miguel was just ducking, dodging, and striking. By the way Miguel isn't my favorite, but you are Completely wrong about him losing fights. He hasn't lost a fight since season 2 actually after he got his legs back. He lost that not tournament because of his back, but that was his choice. He decided not to fight because of Johnny, and Daddy issues. Other than that Miguel has been a monster. Except when Robby beat him for the captain spot 😉 Damn ... I can't believe you made me defend him 😒 I don't think the tournament is being dragged on. Johnny got his ass handed to him against the dragon sensei when they first fought. I commend Johnny for going to Daniel for help because this IS the building where Johnny lost his fight against Daniel. Now he gets a reset, and the Whole World is watching him. It's not just a small valley tournament like it was last time. So I appreciate the full circle writing this season. Want to hear something funny? I went back to season 1 of the reactions to look at my comments, and I thought you deleted them. Turns out I didn't start commenting until season 3! 😂 My plan was to just wait until you reacted to everything, and then watch them since I've already seen most of the seasons at that point. Then I was like forget it... I can't shut up anymore, and the reactions are good 👍🏾 haha So it's ending... I've had some issues with how some episodes have been doing with closure, but overall I've loved the show. They done this very well. Many people call this a "Reboot" I call it a Continuation 😉 Favorite characters.... Daniel, Robby, Chozen, Silver and Lord HELP ME.... Amanda... I think it's just because the show is ending that I'm appreciating her character a little more. Damn this is it... My last comment 😭 I want to thank you for making me immortal by reading these, and the people who disagreed with all I've said. You hate me! You really hate me! 🥲🏆 Haha let me stop... Next, and final episode please, and don't forget the subtitles 😉
