bella

After watching it I could not WAIT for ur reaction to the final fadel/style scene and you did NOT disappoint

Waves

Thank you for the reaction and for your face - it speaks for us all! I just think it's important for everyone to know that Tonkhao is the actual name of Khaotung's sister...do with that what you will! I also can't get over how much First towered over the women in the golfing scene - I know the ground wasn't level, but still! A veritable giant! Amused at how we all thought the interlocking of the hands as teased in the MV was just going to be a sweet, soppy moment...little did we know! And I liked how Kant was admonishing Bison in the taxi only to get distracted himself 5 mins later - so Bison's into costumes and Kant's into competency! (although more to the point: what ISN'T Bison into??) Someone on tumblr pointed out something really cool, which was that Kant playing the honeypot and Style the room service mirrors the roles the brothers played at the very beginning of ep 1! And also I'm taking Kant's ease with his role as confirmation that it was something he got used to doing whilst working under (*cough*) the Captain. Which, when combined with the sad little nugget of backstory we got bout him always working on his own and feeling scared cos nobody had his back, makes me want a prequel miniseries where we explore the brothers' assassin training and their developing bond, Kant's life of crime and his twisted relationship with the Captain, and him and Style meeting and their burgeoning friendship. And although I do think the Babe thing is likely just a sideeffect of the sort of unserious writing that repeatedly implies an equivalence tween the brothers being LITERAL MURDERERS and Kant's shocking, heinous past as a *checks notes* car thief and narc (not to mention the fact the only moral hand-wringing in the show about HITMEN has been over the non-hitmen lying to their killer boyfriends!), it does still sort of align with how I headcanon his character, which is basically as someone who doesn't really see any intrinisic value in himself and who only finds meaning in life through how he can 'service' others. I keep going back to that pre-show character interview where he said he didn't really have any dreams of his own and his only goal in life was to make his loved ones happy - Babe's graduation must be just round the corner, considering his attendance at the teddy bear's murderous picnic was to accept his scholarship, right? So in Kant's head, once Babe graduates, he'll go off to uni and basically live happily ever after without Kant, because why would he still need Kant around? Kant's role was to provide for him, and once that provision is no longer necessary, what more has he to offer? Everything he did was to get Babe to a point where he wouldn't need Kant anymore...but it doesn't occur to Kant that Babe will ALWAYS need him, because that's his big bro and he loves him. Kant has trouble perceiving that someone might want him around, not so he can do something FOR them, or give them anything, but Just Because. And so at this point in the story, Babe is basically out the door on his way to a fabulous new life, one in which a washed up former delinquent with the sword of Captain "Damocles" Christ hanging over his head has no place, so what does Kant do? He transfers all that single-minded devotion onto Bison - like he says in ep 9, he's going to make Bison his new reason for living. Which is played romantically and teasingly, but, if you take it seriously, is also desperately sad, because it just shows how little worth he affords himself - he doesn't know how to keep living unless he's living for someone else. Which isn't surprising considering how young he was when they were orphaned, because it's effectively all he's ever known. And yes, it's also liberating in that for the first time it's HIS CHOICE - he's actively choosing to make Bison that person, he's not being forced into it by tragic circumstances or blackmailed into it by dodgy cops, but still! My guy, you should want to live for yourself, too! And I think Bison will actually help guide him towards that realisation because we've already seen a glimmer of it in the beach scene, when Bison says Kant shouldn't spoil him so much, including in bed - he wraps it up in flirtatious banter, saying it'll get boring and he wants the resistance, which is definitely true, but what I think he's also saying is that Kant (probably for the first time, given that he's spent his entire adolescent to adult life putting his own needs/wants to one side in order to prioritise Babe's) now has to a) figure out and b) articulate his OWN desires, whether that be in bed or in life more generally. ...but yes, the much likelier explanation is the simple Plot Hole! Though to be honest, as long as said plot hole allows me to fill it up with whatever details make me happy whilst simultaneously offering me FK sucking each other's faces AND fingers as recompense...who am I to complain??

possumbaby

Pepper's characters have been causing trouble for JoongDunk since A Star in My Mind. LMAO!

Sunny Days

also your face during the pool scene was also my face during that scene bc that was something....

Becca Grace

my theory is fadel and bison are gonna get a lenient jail time if they give up lilly, but they'll still need to go, which is why they're being all romantic before they have to go away :<

Becca Grace

From my understanding she still got hired by Ruerat, and just executed the plans. Ruerat still technically is the reason their parents died? I mean both of them are at fault, and her taking the children of the people she was hired to kill is a whole other form of evil.

Aster

last episode (?) kant said babe is graduating high school soon so he's free to run away with bison so ig that extends to him being free to die as well 😭
