As much as Cera annoys me at times, I will say that she's actually a great character. Her inclusion in the story is really important. Her father says racist BS and she parrots it, so a lot of her terrible attitude is clearly implied as her parents brainwashing her. By the end of her time with the gang you can see her slowly start to come around, and even after she's back with her father, she calls out for Littlefoot, implying that she's going to maintain those bonds. It's so important for kids to realize that racist and hateful attitudes ostracize you from good people but that being a good friend forms connections. I think it's a great thing for little kids to see that their parents' hate can be wrong, and for kids like Cera to see how much happier and more likable she is when she's not being an arrogant brat.
