Amon Goth daughter, Monika Hertwig had was told by her mother, Ruth that her father fought in the war and died. She had no idea who he was until after a fight with Ruth, and her grandmother told her the truth that her father didn't died in the war but he helped killed the Jews. She later on even attacked Spielberg because she just didn't want know everything. In the end Monika doesn't see Amon doesn't relate to him at all as person. Sometimes we just can't handle who were related too. :/

2025-09-29 14:37:32 +0000 UTCAs bad as Amon Göth (man who had the villa at the camp) was portrayed in this movie, he was far worse in real life. A massive undertaking by Steven Spielberg who is also Jewish. To be able to tell these stories and put as much credibility and honesty into the movie was truly a monumental task.

2025-07-29 06:58:04 +0000 UTCThis is such an important film. Steven Spell bury said he made Saving Private Ryan to honor his father and this one to honor his mother. I originally saw it in the theater when it was released. I barely made it to my car and sat there for 30 minutes before I could drive home. I think it should be a required watch in high school so that humans never repeat this
