The cool thing, that you may not have realized, is that River speaks to Badger using the same accent as Badger, and she only heard him say a few sentences. And she also sounds more coherent than we've heard her be, up to this point. Summer Glau worked with Mark Sheppard, Badger, so she could reliably mimic him. Mark was born and raised in the London area and does a rather Cockney accent in this show. Stories claim that he was very impressed with Summer's ability to do his accent as River.
