I think the creepy kid is ben diskin, a great voice actor now. He also played in Just Like Dad.

Time code would be a good idea. She could start the timer at the same time she started the video? But yeah - it's not hard to figure out: if she's reacting to things a bit before they happen, pause the WA video for a second; if she's reacting slow, pause the movie for a second. Easy :)

plus usually around the middle of the movie she'll throw in some more of the movie to help you resync. Usually I kinda just sync with her reactions.

This movie hit me in the feels so hard. I grew up watching Arnold movies. You name it, I saw it. The first Arnold movie that I watched as a youngster was The Terminator. I watched that when I was three. I remember that because I had a toy figure of the exoskeleton as I went in for a very major surgery.
Anywayyy, yeah, this movie brought back loads of memories and feels! I super enjoyed watching this with you Ashleigh! Thank you for picking this suggestion. :) Oh, also - props to whoever it was that suggested it. Great suggestion!

I wish she'd put a time code or a blurred PIP, but honestly, she reacts in a way that if you're out of sync, you're gonna know it. Not hard to get back in sync if you fall out.

That's what I did - Prime in the background with a pop up always-on-top YouTube window for the watch along video. Ended up quick pause-and-releasing one video stream or the other to kind of nudge them together in sync. Worked pretty well - the WA movie clips and the movie itself ended up being almost in sync with a tiny bit of echo.

If you like Arnold in more wholesome movies, check out "Twins" and "Junior."

So - being new to the party, how do you sync your version and this video? Just sort of eyeball it based on the universal logo?

Haha, I adore this movie, and I loved watching your reaction to it, Ashleigh. Such classic Arnold. It wasn't your typical movie from him, without the violence and the touches of horror that Terminator and Predator had, but the departure from his usual films was great to see. He's very good at comedy. And I loved that the film had so many child actors, but the kids weren't annoying, and all of their acting was great. I agree with you, the kid who played Dominic is a fantastic actor, even at that age.
"It's not a toomah." That line still cracks me up every time.
I'd like to think Joyce tried to visit him in the hospital, only she went too early and they wouldn't let her see him. There is a point in a person's recovery where only family are allowed to visit.
Now that you've seen this and enjoyed the humor, I really hope you'll react to Twins. The humor in it is very similar to this one. The plot isn't remotely similar, but Twins is another movie that mixes comedy and action, where it's lighter, but Arnold is still the badass we know and love. And it's classic 80s with the humor you know is so distinct to that time.

@Thomas - even when I do the watch along, I go back and watch the edited review deliberately to add to her view count. π

That's how she gets extra views from us for the official reaction. We're onto you Ashleigh π΅οΈ

And it's not a big deal, but I do miss the intro and outro being attached to the watch along copy. Minor irritation to have to switch back and forth videos.

Still doing the watch along, but wish I hadn't of just rewatched this last month.
