yeah i was told that it unfortunately is different in the US compared to everywhere else, but thats why i added another sync point after that added intro i see

Oh forgot about that, yeah for some reason I think just in America they get some random into that Karen narrates about her meeting the Dr that plays before the music, I think it's all season so it's something us UK people are going to deal with all S6 I'm afraid!

Just starting watching now (Sat), and iPlayer was always correctly synched (if starting, after the star thing) and kept in sync. I don't know what showed just before the intro (when you said I have this intro) but this completely f--ked up the syncing. Had to resync from the main intro start. (will see what happens on ep2)

Toasty Overlord

Imagine you’re 12 years old and you’re watching the first ever episode of Doctor Who. You see a fellow teen and two teachers take off with a mysterious man in a mysterious machine that travels in time and space. You watch over the years as he walks on alien planets, meets strange beings, and zooms about the universe. A universe imagined as dangerous and scary, yes, but also teeming with life and culture and knowledge and adventure. Then, at 18 years old, you sit down at the same television and watch real humans land on the moon and walk across its surface. At that moment, what wouldn’t seem possible? Mark Sheppard (yes, Supernatural but also Firefly!) was at Gallifrey One in January and was quite entertaining. He said the older version of himself with the gas can was originally supposed to be himself in old age makeup but he suggested, “why not juts get my dad?” His dad is also an actor so they did- they called him up, flew him out, and he got to be on Doctor Who. What a gift! Mark told the whole saga of playing this character and apparently he had to jump through a million hoops to work with timing (Supernatural was filming) and also permission to work in the US. He really fought for this opportunity because he loved the show. And he also said he was the one that asked Gallifrey One if he could stop by that weekend. The dude is just part of the fandom and we love him for that!! I love that River sends Amy to look after the Doctor and the Doctor sends Rory to look after River. They’ve always had good chemistry but the Doctor and River just roll into this season with an electricity and humor that completely sells the dynamic imo. The screamer line was so wild lol. What’s crazy is that Alex Kingston gave such an amazing performance in her first two-parter that the rewatch totally holds up. The devastation of her nightmare coming true is just so… believable… even though she wasn’t a true recurring character yet. Her death has so much gravity. Someday, far down the line, I suggest rewatching Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead again, in your own time. It hits so different after you’ve experienced things like the monologue in this episode. Heartbreaking.

I'm sure someone else has mentioned it, but the old man who plays old Canton ... that's actually Mark Sheppard's father! :) Really a neat detail for the show.

The Inedible Mattman!

Yep, just like that, that's perfect. We just need a point at some point during the opening title credits. 👍🏻
