Funny tidbit they left out of the anime. When Rudy launched himself in the air with his sister to escape the soldiers, his landing was actually extremely difficult and almost fucked him up. He’d never done that before and he vowed to never escape from any situation in the future by recklessly launching himself into the air like that again.

He overcame his trauma about leaving his home thanks to Roxy but that does nothing for him feeling ashamed for getting stripped naked in front of the entire school, every second in that body reminds him that shame probably. He never overcame that one, he just put a pause on that trauma because he is in a new body now. Also monogamy is a strict rule of Milis religion and followers of it. There is no rule about it in Asura itself. Paul was not a Milis follower but Zenith was . That is why it was such a big deal.

2026-01-27 02:46:23 +0000 UTCIn the novel Rudeus elaborates a bit more about his eye - he notices how it feels like when he first got it, when his head felt like it would explode every time he used it. He concludes that the Human God basically used his eye to look into the future so he could see - but the backlash still hit him pretty hard. Rudeus himself can only see 1-2 seconds into the future himself. Not because he doesn't have the necessary magic power, but because his brain cannot handle the stress. The farther he looks into the future, the more it becomes blurry - because every moment can branch into different outcomes. His brain cannot handle the stress of focusing and discerning a single outcome. He also assumes it was the Human Gods goal for him to recieve this eye so he could show him the future. The only thing that makes this a bit suspicious is a difference between the novel and the anime. In the novel, Rudeus is actually given a *choice* between different eyes. It is basically coincidence he picks the demon eye of foresight. Also, the prince was like 13 when Roxy started tutoring him - that was like 5 years before. He should be around 18 now. He just doesn't look much different because he is chubby and lazy ^^ So he is hardly a kid anymore. Also, a small tidbit (it will be mentioned later in season 2 again, but it's not a spoiler): There are different faiths in this world, and only some prohibit or frown upon polygamy. Zenith in particular is part of a faith that believes in strict monogamy (but Paul isn't) so the situation was particularly hard for her. She came around though because she loves Lilia like a sister and she couldn't condemn her child, which is innocent in all of this.
