Devlog: 4.0.3 Update on whats going on

Hello there fellow LB community! Just to give you all a quick update on what is going on.

LB 4.0.2 beta has now been out for some time and I am currently investing my resources into fixing the remaining and new bugs (some things in the gw2 client are bugged again, yay....). I am hoping to shine some light into the situation on which seems to be "no progress" in the users eyes, while the real work is a mix between remaining 4.0.2 issues and bigger changes under the hood of the gw2 gameclient:

1. Coherent UI host update. Gw2 is on its way to switch from the coherent ui host to a new framework to improve ingame browser ui (trading post). To make these updates work some changes have been made in the gw2 game client I am currently investigating. These changes range from adaptations needed in Launchbuddy to new bugs in the gw2 client itself which have not been fixed by anet yet. Mainly chaching data seems to be the main issue here. Multiple clients try to access the same data at the same time.

2. DDOS protection timing: 4.0.2 DDOS protection timing needs another optimization loop. These timings are based on collected data over several hours and days, however do not seem consistent anymore. My data currently suggests that something in the backend of the loginservers actually changed (about 3 weeks ago). If this theory proves to be right I might have to scrap all collected data before that date and create the new timings only based on the new data.

3. DirectX11 multi launch bug. When launching multiple accounts in a quick succession there is a small chance of that the directX11 library crashes the game. This issue is shown in the way that the gw2 client does not reach the char selection screen and instead freezes the game (black or white screen).

Some known fixes to recent issues (next patch will include automated fixes for some of these):

- Game client and loginfiles not updating: Under LB Settings enable "force gameclient update on startup"

- Launching the game results in "game need to be patched before using -nopatchiu" gamecrash: This issue is caused by the gameclient defaulting back to english after a recent bug in the gw2 gameclient. Launch gw2 once with the language you used for your loginfiles then try updating affected loginfiles.

- LB is stuck on gameclient update screen: Under LB Settings enable "force gameclient update on startup". This is sadly caused by a bug in the gw2 API

I hope this provides some more information on whats going on and why there is a bigger delay as usual to the 4.0.3 update. There will likely be some delayed feature requests in 4.0.3 as this will be more of an adaption update to hold the status quo.

4.0.3 with some urgent fixes will come as soon as possible. If everything is going according to time estimations a release in the next two weeks will be possible.

Comments

1) Added batch launch feature on my new feature list 2) LB currently determines the DDOS delay this way: Take the number of accounts which have been launched in the past 180 mins and use that number to determine the waittime. In the past 60 mins was to low and now 180 seems to high. I will change the value to 90 mins for the next release and see how it works out.

Hi :) I have two questions: 1.) I know, that with 31 accounts, I'm not quite the standard customer here. My PC is quite strong, but I found the limit to be 21 accounts at the same time. So every day, to collect the daily gifts, I click "Daily Logins" and de-select 10 and wait. If there were a possibility to create "Account Teams", it'll be nice, but that's really nice to have. 2.) I have to start my accounts in two batches (see 1). Since it takes some time, to get all the gifts and send them to my main account, there is no need for the DDOS delay for the second batch. Even if I start the second batch hours later, I still have to wait for the delay. Could you add a timer that resets this after ten minutes or so? Thanks for your great work!
