Darkness and Glow!
Added 2019-02-20 05:56:03 +0000 UTCVixel here!! :) I made this GIF while exploring layer effects for tree shadows, lightning bug glow, and darkness for when the player character carries a light source into a cave or the deeper woods.
If you look closely when the character walks into the tree shadows, his own shadow disappears and the tree shadows darken his sprite! Still fleshing this out, but it's a fun start. ^.^
