Comic Length Poll

There have been a lot of comics released this year, but I'd say it's been dominated by series. This poll is a chance to let me know how you feel about the length of comics available. Feel free to vote for multiple choices, and here's a TG/AP Sequence for your enjoyment :)

Fair enough :D

TGTrinity

Thanks so much for your thoughts as always, Faye :)

TGTrinity

Thank you, I'll try to keep all of that in mind :)

TGTrinity

For sure. I'm about to post a short bonus comic I love, but most people will be happy it's just 30 pages :)

TGTrinity

That was my mantra for 2019, and it seemed to go over well.

I like a balance. I like medium to long comics, because I want to get into the story, but I think it's important to intersperse some shorter tales as well.

Mr. Phoenyxx

I pretty much agree with everyone else as a reader, but I will say that shorter stories give you the writer more freedom to tell different _kinds_ of stories.

Adama

I have to agree with all those above with the caveat that I like the longer comics when there is a lot of character or plot development. Maybe, the transformation is slower or there is a mystery to solve or an issue to resolve. If it's just a series of transformations, puns, sight-gags or eye-candy, then the comic can be short. If the focus is purely on the transformation, or the titillation of a change in form or a change in circumstance, it can be as short as you like - the shorter the better if there is little or no story. If there is a good storyline with realistic/meaningful twists and turns, or good interplay and development between characters, then I want to spend more time getting to know them, to understand how they feel and how they are dealing with their situation. I really like Powers and Analogue, because of the good vs evil, and the developments in the story, but I also like shorter comics like Foxy, TACOS and isla Cambiar, because I like the premise, the motivations of the characters, the variety of different characters, how and why they change.

Faye pretty much says my feeling too (and a lot better),

ric robinson

Totally agree with Faye here.

Nemea

I really enjoy the longer comics. It gives time to flesh out the characters and form an emotional connection to their story. I really care about Kimmy and Erica, and Dee and Van, and Thea, and Six and Cherry. Spending more time in different stories can form such a powerful emotional investment, that it just can't be beat. In my opinion, the short comics and one offs are a fun breakup when series are going on, but I never feel a strong about them as I do that series comics. I think you struck a good balance this year between the two.

Faye Fatale

When a comic is good I never want it to end.
