2026-01-19 16:11:02 +0000 UTCIt didn't hit me till like the dozen time I watched this film that the narration of Henry and Karen is them telling the feds their testimony basically. Perfect example is that Karen's narration doesn't start till she enters Henry's life.

2025-12-31 06:11:01 +0000 UTCI used to listen to the real Henry Hill when he was on Howard Stern. He was on a lot and sometimes his ex wife Karen would call in and give him crap. It was very funny. I will tell you that they were both very impressed by being played by Ray Liotta and Lorraine Bracco. The actors were certainly an upgrade to the real people.

Henry Hill's wife Lorraine Bracco and the kid Jimmy shot in the foot and later killed are both in it. Steven Van Zandt, guitarist for Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band plays a great gangster in it as well.

Pacino is amazing in Donnie Brasco too. Just an FYI. In Goodfellas when Henry is introducing all the mobsters with funny nicknames there's one he mentions Michael Franzese who does what you do now. He has a successful YouTube channel where he tells stories about his former life and gives reviews of movies and shows. It's interesting hearing his perspective on movies about the life he once was a part of. He talks about the things the movies get right and wrong. Enjoyed this reaction. Ciao!
