Development Update (11.11.2022)

Hello, my fellow Fetish lovers!

How was Day-20? Did you manage to pass the dreaded exam? Or did you succumb to the pressure? As you might've also noticed, a majority of the scenes in Day-20 focused on wrapping up the character arcs we've been developing for the past three years, and today's topic is related to that! Today, I want to talk about the end of Fetish Locator! It's sad, but all things must come to an end. But! In our case, there's 18 of them! So the end might be near, but we're far from done 😉

Just to make things clear, every ending has a letter and numeric designation— for example, Ending-13 being E13—that we use for internal communication. There is no clever ordering or meaning to the numbers, we simply gave them whatever number was available while drawing up the details of the endings—we were more focused on the character, choice requirements, and story aspects of the endings instead 🤓

So far, we have only released E13 - Nora's Pregnant Ending. We specifically picked this ending to do first because it made the most sense at the point we were in the story and because it was one of the smaller endings—relatively speaking. Every other ending will be much, much larger, except for one. But I'll explain more about that later.

Anyway, now that that's out of the way, you might be asking why I'm talking so much about the endings. Well, we have a lot of people who come to us and ask when Week-3 will be finished, when it'll be available on Steam, etc. To that, we normally answer by saying that we don't have an estimation. We don't do that to pull some sort of trick over you, it's just that we literally don't know. Especially not with the amount of work we're pouring into each ending.

We have fans that try to count the days by saying, "They are on Day-20 out of 21 days so we are almost done!", and that would be true if you were to look at Week-1 and Week-2, but Week-3 is different. It is the end of a saga. The culmination of countless man hours poured into this project from people all around the world.

So we want this to matter. We want every. single. ending. to matter.

Most of the endings—except two that are deliberately small—will be big. To give you some perspective, they will be as big as an average "day" of content in Week-2. Now, you might be thinking that Week-3 "days" have more than 10 scenes each, why wouldn't we make each ending as big as a Week-3 day instead? That's because any single day of a Fetish Locator release focuses on multiple characters—even more so in Week-3. But when it comes to the endings, each ending will dedicate 6 - 8+ scenes exclusively to the characters in that ending. If you want an example, imagine getting a full Fetish Locator release focusing on the main character of your affections. That's what the endings will be like.

To talk straight numbers, Week-3 will have 7 days of content with ~10 scenes each, which amounts to around 70 scenes—~60 of which are already done. Compare that to the 16 endings that will have 6 - 8+ scenes each—plus the two small endings—and we are talking about over a 100 scenes! That means the endings will have more content than even Week-3—our largest week yet.

So, the conclusion here is this. To fully develop Week-3 to our standards, it will take us much, much more time—even liberally speaking. But, we have a plan. The plan right now is to finish the game with the first 6 base endings. We will focus our efforts on them and get them done as fast as possible and then later on add the additional 12 endings while we also work on the next Fetish Locator project concurrently.

But wait! There's more! We've decided that we want to implement one of those endings already. So we'll deliver it with the next Extended Edition update! Can you guess whose ending it is? It's our petitie beauty Min's ending! The very same ending that you saw beginning on Day-20.

As for the other 4 endings, however. Well, you'll just have to stick around a lil' while longer to find out 😏
