No update - Mon 2, Sept - also, some stuff

Hi all. There will unfortunately be no update today as I've been sucked into an all-day teams meeting with a sales rep in Singapore and will be in this through afternoon and evening as well. Taking a 15 min break now to write this.

Basically, a new prospective buyer "may buy" the company if they can replace old sales team with south-east-asian call centre and replace editorial with AI content. Derp, lol.

Sounds like an awful idea to me but I'm stuck by law and boss' orders to humour it, so I'm training a rep from Singapore today and some of tomorrow (and wednesday) on how to handle sales, so that she can then train her people and they can test-run it for a few weeks.

This was sprung on my yesterday via a call from my boss on the weekend, so I've had no time to prep or plan. Just told I'm in a teams meeting starting 9am and probably continuing until 8 or 9pm. Yay.

I'll be working on tomorrow's chapter tonight so I can try and get that one out despite being sucked into meetings tomorrow as well. Hoping I'll manage.

Boring Patreon stuff. Basically, they are changing their terms and conditions - less by choice and more by Apple. Thanks, Apple. Basically, Apple is going to demand a % cut (like, 30% i think) from all payments to patreon made via apple pay. As such, if you support me by apple pay then your bill may jump up 30%!!!

This will happen sometime around November so I strongly suggest that anyone who supports me via apply pay consider finding another way to do so if you wish to keep going, as being charged extra is ridiculous. To everyone who supports me via other methods this shouldn't make any difference, but Patreon is having to switch to a subscription payment model to cope with apple's demands.

This means, I think, that instead of joining up and paying at the start of the next month, you would be charged when you first sub to me and THEN at the start of following months. It should make no difference to everyone already subbed to me as nothing changes, but letting you know anyway.

They are automatically swithcing all creators over sometime in November because they can't afford apple's demands for a cut if the payment isn't taken from the subscriber straight away.
