No Update June 10th
Added 2024-06-10 17:13:26 +0000 UTCJust a quick email to warn no update today. it's been one of those days I warned would be exceptionally busy, capped off with the raw news that my cancer-surviving mother has been found positive for another cancer - and it could be bowel cancer.
If so, her life expectancy will be short given she's already been through it all before.
As a result, I'm spending today with her and can't write anything.
I only think it's fair to be open about this as it could cause further disruption later. I.e. if she's given a life expectancy long enough (or short) we may end up doing a big family holiday to have some positive memories. Maybe revisit where she and my father got married.
If so, that'll mean no updates as well. I'll let everyone know if that happens though.
Hard to say right now but she's being called in some time within the next 2 weeks to speak to someone and be tested more thorougly. It's deffo another cancer but a small chance it might be prostate, which is less dangerous.

2024-06-10 17:39:24 +0000 UTCWhen bad stuff happens, it all happens at once but she's 74 and survived cancer when she was 50 that should have by all rights killed her. We'll have to see what happens but I'm fortunate to have had her so long
