Update Status
Added 2024-03-13 20:06:56 +0000 UTCHey all, so just keeping you all in the picture as to my updates.
There will be no update tomorrow and was not one on Tuesday.
This is due to my mother going into hospital with a heart attack monday morning (which I briefly mentioned in ARC Corp). What should have been a routine and easily solved problem has turned worse due to a cavalcade of errors on the part of the hospital and now the situaiton is worse.
Mistake 1) They ignored her medical history and gave her medicine she was recorded as allergic to. It almost killed her.
Mistake 2) After that, one day later, they gave her the same medicine again and had a second crack at killing her.
Mistake 3) She has little to no immune system due to chemo and being a cancer survivor, and they ignored that fact and put her in a room with a highly-infectious flu vector hidden behind plastic screens. Now they say that was a mistake but she's an "infection risk" and therefore cannot leave that ward or go to have her heart checked as should have happened on day 1. She will have to stay IN the room with the dangerous flu risk with no immune system until they can do a swab test in a few days or find her a private room.
It's a sick joke and I've warned them I'll be in talks with a solicitor if anything goes wrong, and that I am taking notes and evidence down. Doctor looked at me like I was scum, despite three instances of reckless negligence.
Anyway, I'm spending most of my day at the hospital with her both to keep her company but also monitor what's being done and to stop them giving her the medicine she's allergic to for a third time.
This may have a knock-on effect Saturday or Sunday but they've said they should have better answers before then. We'll have to wait and see.

2024-04-01 00:28:04 +0000 UTCMan, that is rough. Hope that things have gotten better and not worse since then. Praying for the situation to improve. Hope you've been able to get some rest yourself during all this. Sometimes sleep and downtime are the first things to go while handing crisis management and stress, leading to yet more stress. :(

2024-03-19 00:36:55 +0000 UTCHoping she recovers from this. Please take all the time you need. Definitely a good idea to monitor her care and record any negligence so far. Please definitely look into some sort of legal representation. Even if she has a recovery here, there might be future complications from what's occured so far. Stay safe yourself as well.

2024-03-15 12:29:17 +0000 UTCThoughts, prayers, and well wishes are all with you and your family! Hopefully everything goes well (You've been through the ringer so some good news for you and your mum would be great), but make sure you document everything thing they say / do (And get them to do so as well). It seems like the only way for the medical system to act as it should at times

2024-03-15 08:07:58 +0000 UTCHopefully they take you more seriously, a malpractice lawsuit should be something to talk to a lawyer about based on their conduct thus far. Thoughts and prayers for your mom, hope things are better today.

2024-03-14 01:30:24 +0000 UTCDude, you should already BE in talks with a solicitor if they made the same mistake twice. That's negligent care if I ever heard it and that gives plenty of grounds to sue. My prayers are with you, your mom and the rest of your fam. Don't worry about your stories for the time being, focus on making sure your mom is getting the care she needs.

2024-03-13 23:57:55 +0000 UTCHospitals have been getting pretty terrible over the last decade or two. It sucks that this happened to your mother and that hospital/doctor absolutely deserves to be sued for prescribing a medication that they SHOULD have known that she was allergic to twice. I hope that she is able to survive this. You'll be in my prayers.

2024-03-13 20:26:09 +0000 UTCHonestly, don't even wait to contact a solicitor or a lawyer, do it now. That is extreme negligence.
