Goodbye Old Friend
Added 2020-07-03 08:23:03 +0000 UTCI'm afraid that today, 3rd July 2020, I had to say goodbye to my old friend, Parker, who struggled with numerous problems towards the end of his life. After months of fighting extreme weight loss, deficient protein levels and the prospect of cancer, his body gave out on him and he had to be put down. I was able to convince the vets to let me be there when it happened despite lock down, so that he didn't have to pass away alone.
It was Parker who spurred me to first make my Patreon due to his expensive medical bills, and I just want to say thank you to everyone. Without you, he would have never survived to have the long life he did. The vets expected him to dive at the age of 4-5. He lived until 10.
This is obviously a huge blow, especially after so much hard work on all our parts. Aside from sharing this with you, there is a purpose to this message. There will be no full updates for Relic or Arcanum this Saturday and Sunday. I'm not in the right mind to write chapters that aren't full of anger and grief. I'll likely post mini chapters just to pass the message on to readers so they don't wonder where I am, but for all intents and purposes we shall be spending this weekend remembering a beloved member of the family.
