One Shot & Updates

Hi all.

It's been a while, hasn't it? I'd like to apologise for that. The lock down and coronavirus has been tough on all of us. I thought working from home would give me more time to work on things like this, but it's actually made life just that little bit harder.

I'm happy to say things are moving back on track and I'm going to be looking to get things in order again, which will mean a return to the monthly updates and writing lessons I'm supposed to be doing. I'll also be making up for the ones missed.

One-Shot

This one shot is sort of a rough draft of a first chapter of an old idea I had to replace Hunter or Something. As you may know from my profile or past comments, Hunter or Something is on hiatus because it is College Fool's story with his direction, planning and narration involved in it. He had to take a long break from writing for reasons of a personal nature, and I don't want to continue it until he comes back lest I ruin his vision for the story.

I did have an idea based around a similar concept however, a rare romance born of two people stuck behind enemy lines. This is a rough draft of a first chapter of that, hence it's not a complete kind of story with s start, middle and ending. I hope you enjoy.

To tack onto this, the writing lesson to come in a few days will actually be an example of how to plan out a full story structure based entirely on this concept. In it, I'll give an idea of a timeline of how a full story of the one shot would go, the twists and turns, and also importantly WHY I made those decisions, and how I came up with them. Hopefully, this will give an in depth look into how I plan out the structures of my stories, which you can adapt to your own.

Tax Updates:

I also want to give you some warning ahead of time that apparently patreons from certain countries may receive an email in the coming days about changes to how tax works on this site. I can't say for sure who will be affected or how. I'm based in the UK which I believe is exempt on my end, but I don't know if that will mean anyone from the US will be. Tax law is hard enough to understand in your own country, let alone other people's.

What I have done is use the tools provided by the site to try and lower that tax bill where possible, mainly by submitting entry updates to each pledge to highlight which benefits aren't worth any money, and thus should never have tax attributed to it.

You should hopefully receive more specific detail from Patreon itself if it affects you. I'm sorry that I can't give more myself, but it will differ from person to person. It might honestly be a case of $0.02 extra for some people, or even no extra at all. I genuinely have no idea as it will depend on the amount pledged, what country you're based in and more. I only wanted to mention it here because I believe supporters deserve to know.

Comments

Good chapter, I would love to see a full fic of this. Not gonna lie, I did not like his character at all, but you did a fantastic job of humanizing him in Beast of Beacon that I’m not even remotely adverse to this premise at all. Good work, and don’t feel pressured to go overboard on the oneshots you missed, we understand. Quarantine sucks for all of us.

Produx :}
