Announcement and a bit of poll
Added 2024-11-21 17:03:56 +0000 UTCHi guys! I want to announce something regarding "Marie's Adventure"
In short, There are a bit of problems going with the VA of marie, so there are a really high possibilities we are going to remove all of her voices from the game
With so, I want to ask
Should I go with making the characters voiceless (I will also remove elucia's voice if so) or search another VA(s) for the game?
if I search another VA, it will increase the production cost & time but increase the game immersion
If we didn't use VA, it will reduce the production cost & time but decrease the game immersion
Comments
Always love to have VA, but you can always add voice cover later in updates after release the game (if it doesn't make it more difficult to do updates later rather than do it rn)

2024-11-27 21:57:01 +0000 UTCI would prefer to have the voice acting done, but as others have pointed out, it doesnt need to be a priority right now, it is something that can be added at a later update while more of the core story/mechanics are fleshed out and updated sooner. Voice acting does add immersion, but people should always be more immersed in the story/game play itsself (even for an 18+ game)

2024-11-21 19:34:30 +0000 UTCIf your plan is to continue releasing the game for free on itch.io and getting support via Patreon I think you should go with a version without voice acting. More frequent updates will mean more visibility and patrons having more confidence in the project actually going anywhere. It will be possible to add voice acting later and if you have more Patreon funds it will be easier to hire someone. If, on the other hand, you plan to sell your game in a store everything needs to be in order at the time of release. Then you can't really add voice acting after the fact.

2024-11-21 19:17:37 +0000 UTCI’m perfectly fine with the game not having any voice acting if it lowers costs and means less work for you.

2024-11-21 18:53:02 +0000 UTCYou could always voice act it yourself and use an ai voice changer.

2024-11-21 17:54:55 +0000 UTCThank you for asking us! I'm fine with no voices. I do like having a game with voices, but if it lowers cost and makes it easier on you, I'm 100% okay with the voices being removed. You're already making a great game, and that's all I need.

2024-11-21 17:35:40 +0000 UTCI'm pretty old-school when it comes to RPG's so I'm fine with removing the voices altogether. Music is far more important to me than voice work.
