Aang is the last one left. If he allows himself to kill someone, then he’s afraid that he’s no longer an Air Nomad anymore.

Drinor

Another great chapter! Thank you for pointing out Gyatso actually killed. I get it’s aang culture but even the most peaceful people knows it’s fine to get hands dirty to defend self and others. Hell no way the air nation lasted that long without fighting before humans became civilised and made own cities it was free for all for survival

GrouchyGritic

Aang’s biggest fear right now is the thought of going too far, and doing so might mean he’s no longer an Air Nomad.

Drinor

True and I agree but what I think Aang needs is a middle ground because he’s the last Airbender mean he has to bring back his entire nation meaning I think he doesn’t want to kill so that when he passed down his heritage. He doesn’t come off as a hypocrite. At least that’s what I think

God of Wind 200

Hmm... I think Aang is misinterpreting the Air bender teachings. He left young to run away from his responsibilities, so the true meaning of them could never be taught to them, only the verbatim is remembered. All life is precious, but if no life dies, other things cannot live. Plants are life, so they are precious, but the herbivore cannot survive without plants dying. Herbivores are life and are precious, but the carnivore cannot survive without eating the herbivore. Carnivores are life, so they are precious, but if they never die the fungus will have nothing to feed on. The cycle of life. All life has value so it should not be wasted for no reason, but that does not mean some things should not die. IF something takes more than it's share, it upsets the balance. Should it be allowed to keep upsetting the balance of everything else just so it may live, or should it be culled so that all other life my flourish? The Dai Li, Long Feng, and the Dark Spirit upset the balance. Simply because they are life does not mean they are not harmful to everything else. A diseased branch is trimmed to save the tree. So treat all life with respect, take it only if necessary. However, if necessary, take it.

Dracolich

Aang knows he messed up, and right now, he is seriously questioning how far he’s willing to go, but is it really a good idea for a pacifist like Aang to break free of the chains? What can he become?

Drinor

Kuruk wants to warn Naruto about the Dark Spirits. Aang is slowly cracking; seeing Naruto suffering and the ambush made him realize just how bad things can get. Toph will do something daring once Naruto wakes up.

Drinor

Interesting that Aang finally realized he was tricked the entire time and now that Long Feng isn’t even trying to play nice (go get the group to attack each other) Aang is being forced to think over his priorities again.

William Kwok

Makes sense that Kuruk would meet with him since he went out the same way. Aang is contemplating on whether or not his pacifism is a hindrance but he still has a tight hold on that belief. Toph is coming to terms with how she feels as well. And the outcome of Naruto’s wellbeing and future is up in the air. Also, what became of the real Earth King!? The suspense is killing me! 😬
