You can spend merits for things that were on the reward list for the trial, for example, the reward Kai chose probably cost more than 10000 merits

I believe someone said something about tuition and I know Rain used it to change rooms but what else can be done with it? I'm curious what Kai actually has as a reward since it's apparently valuable.

2025-12-22 22:16:21 +0000 UTCThe chapter's title and Kai's conversation with Aiden do imply some manner of Blackwoods sponsorship on the horizon, and as was previously pointed out, Kai's sponsorship with Valela is non-exclusive. Still, I hardly see a point aside from a narrative excuse to interweave a Blackwoods subplot into the story. Which is reason enough for me, but Kai would need a motive for something like that; maybe access to specialized alchemy skill paths.

How did the student who came back to class (Elcarin I think?) spot Kai in the running crowd? I thought he'd cloaked himself by then and was running in the shadow of another person to help hide.
