artist notes: complex facial expression!
Added 2024-11-28 14:00:05 +0000 UTCi rmb how i used to share my sketch corrections and u guys rly liked seeing what changes i make to expression certain complication emotions better! body language is in the head tilting, neck and where the hands are as well, not just in their faces! i like to keep tobio’s brows more stressed/angry to keep him characterised bc he’s always confused/frustratedly trying his best to keep his shit together and in this case, angry at himself and highly anxious! hence the changes i made to try and express that while he’s trying to beg for shouyou to come back. what a concoction of emotional context to mix in!

Seeing your thought process broken out is fascinating and I love how much goes into each minute detail. Such small changes make such big impacts and it’s so inspiring and engaging to see how much you care about the little things making the story real. Tobio is always angry, but even through that anger you can see the love and the terror, the sympathy, the wonder, without changing who he is intrinsically as a character. The small attention to details to get the feel of the character, but having the right emotion for a scene has to be a tough thing to balance.
