Essences IV; Residuum Roller 2.0; A Classic New Year

Happy New Year! I can't thank you all enough for sticking with me and the site the past 12 months. What started as a way for Resto Druids to compare two azerite pieces has grown into a multi-spec, multi-function gearing tool and it wasn't possible without you. We're going to continue into 2020 with new, deeper, easier ways to look at your characters in Classic, BFA and soon Shadowlands. Now, on with the new stuff.

New Article: Essences IV

Patch 8.3 adds three new healer Essences in the form of Unwavering Ward, Spirit of Preservation and Formless Void. Have a read through what they each do and where they might be strong. I've included some recommendations at the bottom. There's a standard PTR warning on this one and it could all change before the patch goes live.

Residuum Roller 2.0

The current Roller is a good way to work out what slot to roll, but it could include a lot more information. With my three equipped pieces I might want to roll shoulders to get a Lights Decree or chest to get an Autumn Leaves. The problem is that it doesn't take into account that you might already have one of those in your bags that you could swap in. The new iteration of the Roller will form the best possible combination for each potential piece from all of your gear, and it'll tell you what setup you'll be running with each. Pictures below:

QE Live Classic

Classic slid up the to-do list a little bit when I realized the existing tools were poor and often used stat weights with no backing. A note on one read "The source of these has been lost to time". I think we can do better. Druid / Paladin go live this week and the other two specs will follow sometime in late February / early March. There's also room to include non-healer specs in the future. 

This is definitely an Alpha build and there are still little bits and pieces missing (notably including random "of the Bear / Falcon / X" world drops). If you can't find an item or one is on the wrong bosses loot table then flick me a message here or on discord. The app supports characters from about level 40 up and will be iterated on until perfect. 

QE Live Classic: In Game Addon

The Simcraft addon isn't available in Classic, so I've written my own. You can use this to import all of your gear at once. It's available now on Curse.

Azerite and Trinkets are both in for Diamond patrons and above. I'll be flicking the public switch to 8.3 six days before the patch so that you have some time to prepare loot lists. This will include the new Upgrade Finder and the patch's Azerite trait and Essence changes.
