Merry Christmas, fuzzies!

Hello, all :) Checking in with you as the year winds down, and I wanted most of all to say thank you! Thank you for being wonderful people, and I hope you've been having a good December so far. And, because to be honest 2019 was an... imperfect... year, I also hope that 2020 is a good one for you right from the off.

I'm not sure how best to use these posts—they wind up being mostly reminders of what's been going on on the site, in case you have missed them or there are things you might find interesting. I guess I should try to find more explicit (ha!) ways of engaging with y'all? There's a New Year's resolution :3

That said, uh, what's new on the site >.>

1. I've updated the Nakath dictionary with some new nouns, verbs, and prepositions. This was in service of, uh, translating the "Ode to Joy" into Rukhat, which I had reason to do. I assure you. You can find it in...

2. "And to You Your Wassail," the 2019 Christmas Story, which is up now and will be up on SoFurry in a few hours when I'm back from seeing a Star War. I've also added "All I Want for Christmas," last year's story, and "Bishop Takes Queen's Pawn" from Matters Out of Place. This latter addition means that all ebook content is now live on writing.dog, so you no longer have to buy the ebooks. ...I mean to be honest if you're a library-level subscriber you should just have them. I'll track down the source files and make a note to link them somewhere from the library page. Does that seem reasonable?

3. The "Hatikvah TO&E" page, available for all patrons, is now updated with the Spaceborne Assault Battalion that (for example) Jules Verne served in and the Jackal company that formed the core of Steel and Fire and Stone.

4. A Moreauverse Timeline is now also live. I want to do something cool with this, I think? Like I want to make it more interactive and allow you to turn on and off bits of content. Also, more content definitely needs to be added, but this situates all of the stories posted so far in their proper home.

I say "more content needs to be added" because it's largely a list of "this story takes place during this year," and if events are referenced in those stories I don't have those dated. I think what I'd like to do is expand on that, but part of my goal with making the library content open was that I everyone to have access to it and also it puts me in the position of needing to commit to something, so I'm erring on the side of putting rougher content up and refining it later.

PS: Attached picture is what Sam Rigney (Carlos's... girlfriend?) looks like as an actual dog, because I'm visiting my parents and I get to see her again, being... being made of trouble, and all. Her name isn't really Samantha. It's "Bella," short for Jezabel because of course that's what my parents named her :P
